I've used the 1TB model for over a year w/o any problem. Mostly used it to copy files from one PC then open those files with another media player.

I have had 4 of these external drives. Absolutely terrible and will not last. It's cost me more to RMA them than they are worth. Just gave up and now building a server to store all my important data.

Good price with coupon but your comment makes me wary on buying one. I've gone through horrible experiences with their 1.5/2.0 TB drives with the bad firmware already. Hmm, I think I will pass. Not worth the hassle again >.>

The only 2 TB drives that seem to have decent ratings as far as reliability goes are the Samsung ones. Just ordered one for $79. This would be a great deal if the other manufacturers didn't have such terrible track records with 2 TB drives.

Just buy a small usb drive and replace it with a large desktop drive. Cheaper.
Then sell the small drive you replaced.

Seagate exploring buying WDC a few months back. Thank God they rejected.

I'd been thinking about buying a $25 off $75 coupon on eBay and then using it to get the 2 GB drive, but I probably won't do it now. Would that drive work out well as a DVR expansion for a Dish Network box?
