I have used them on a few upgrades and the Seagates and Maxtors IMHO seem to be the very quiet.

There's a coupon out there that lasts through Sunday for 10% off any one upgrade, says it took $17 off my the price after the instant rebate.

Coupon makes it $82.99 after rebate (no tax & no schools in Oregon) ... I like Seagates too, sure don't see as many deals on them as you do Maxtor and Western Digital...

Service Life/Limited Warranty (years) 5/3

No, the warranty is only one year. All Seagate retail drives have a 1 year warranty ... only the OEM drives has 3 years.

Ah now I see why the Seagate 200gb from Mwave for @$130 awhile back was such a good deal as they were bare OEM thus had 3 year warranties.

Update: The 10% off upgrade coupon is not working anymore. It *was* working along with the $30 instant rebate and $70 MIR last night, but only for a few hours. I was lucky to get into that ... but I am sorry to say it won't work for anyone now

$99 for a Seagate 200GB is still a pretty darn good deal though ...

Ya, you'd think otherwise. But then again, you only get these huge rebates on the retail drives. When's the last time you saw a big rebate on an OEM drive ?

Unfortunately I found a coupon code and it is not valid on the web site. Anyone else having any luck with an upgrade coupon for this deal?
