Got my drive... it's the seagate 7200.7 not 7200.8 which some consider less reliable.

Can you think for yourself? Yes ONE model and i do mean ONE model of ibm's hard drives weren't very good and that was a LONG LONG TIME AGO. Before that IBM were known for some of the best hard drives out there. This not only happened to ibm it happend to a lot of other companies. Epox-with their faulty caps on their 8RDA line of boards. I actually had one of these boards that had bad caps and will i evern buy an epox board again....definitly. Even leaders like Nvidia make mistakes when ATI took a big chunk of their market share because a mistake they made in developing a series of video cards. Kind of reminds of people that hound microsoft but yet what OS do the run the most? XP Maybe? Anyways i degress.

Hitachi are some of the best drives out there. Don't believe me....go read storagereview.com. I would definitly believe them over you. I have multiple hitachi drives on computers that stay on 24/7 and i have yet to have one fail. I have had bad luck with wd drives but do i go around here saying they are junk...NOOOO. Moral of the story is THINK BEFORE YOU POST. That happened a long time ago and hitachi are first rate drives.

Actually, I had the 75GXP (i think) that failed on me. I RMA'ed it and got the 60GXP.. a year later, the 60GXP failed again... I sent it back and they sent me another 60GXP that died a week later. So I believe it was 2 models =P. Anyway, I still use Hitachi and they seem to be doing so far so good. However, Maxtor and Seagates are still my top choices. I still use WD's... but that's only because I base my HD choices on how many rebates they have at the time. =D
