Bah, a week after I bought my Seagate 250gb SATA HDD for $102. Nice deal, rare to find on the big SATA drives...especially Seagate.

This one is instore from Friday through Tuesday. It's a 7200.8 model, and not the newer 7200.9, however that matters, if any.

It's a good deal.

I jumped on this deal like 1.5 months ago, it seemd like a good deal. But, with tax it was like $168 shipped, and there still was the risk of the rebate.

Then, after reading some lackluster reviews on these 300GB SATA Seagate hard drives i've deciced to cancel the order.

On the rebate it lists the 16mb version as also being eligible for the $50 rebate, but I can't find the 16mb version on the site. I'd rather get that.

can anyone provide links to reviews or anything. I know storagereview and others have covered the 8mb version but searching the model number gives me barely anything for the 16mb.

Yah I see no reviews of this model nor see it even listed on Seagate's site. Although both outpost and compusa specs seem to confirm its a 300gb/sata/NCQ/16mb.

they offer BOTH (read the posts ahead of you).

I'm rather dissapointed that I didnt get my HDD overnight (I will be complaining once business hours open again). The tracking never changed and when I finally called dhl they seemed very apologetic and told me that it hadnt made it to the chicago distribution center and I'd get it monday before noon. Unfortunately, my mail-room is closed monday and they dont let us get packages until 3:00 and often it takes until 6 or later for them to get them in the system (they close at 8 and they wont let you get them even if tracking says they have showed up). I am thinking about camping out in the lobby waiting for the DHL guy to show up and just signing for the package myself.

Hopefully outpost gives me my shipping money back.
