<stolen from fw>

Forgive me if it's already posted here -- I didn't see it if it is.

Circuit City has the Seagate 500gb sata drive for $99 OTD and a $40 Rebate.
Reportedly priced higher online.

It should be 7200.9, but many reporting 7200.10 in the box.

Rebate is HERE

Hope that link works.... it seems longer than it should be.

Some are reporting the shelf tag says: $99 - $40 = $59 after rebate
My store just had a tag w/$99 price, no mention of a rebate.

I was in the market for 2 with or without the rebate -- so I bought, and will cross my fingers for the $40. (limit 1 rebate)
$160 (+tax on $200) for 500GB mirrored is good enough for me.

Selling out quick

happy hunting

Argghh...I don't need another HD. I wouldn't be too disappointed if it sell out fast.

hmm I just noticed it's an ATA drive not SATA drive...
I guess it isnt a bad deal, but wish it was SATA instead

OP says SATA. There is a CC about a mile from where I work so I am going to go check the store at lunch.

I bought it online for instore pickup yesterday. They automatically credited my CC for $70 since the instore price was that much less than the online price.

Nice and easy way to do it, especially since it was their last one. Got the .10 version too.

hmm did the price change??

I tried to do a online purchase for an instore pickup and I'm showing a price of 159.99 (119 AR). Anyone else seeing something similar?

As others have said, you have to go to the actual store and buy it for the price. Online pickup does not reflect the price.

Picked up 2 SATAs. At first I was disappointed they were out, then I noticed the new smaller boxes. Rebate seems valid, but it does not print out with the purchase - 2 drives for $130 with tax after MIR is awesome.

Did anyone run into situation where online showed out of stock for a particular store but they did actually have the drives in the store.

To clarify the "no go in Michigan" above...
CC in Dearborn has lots of PATAs for $160, no SATA for $99, so no hot deal.
No other store the guy checked had any SATA, either. I feel baited & switched!

Fail

That doesn't necessarily mean anything. Take it up to the counter and ask then to scan it to check the price.

hmph, I'm in Michigan...anybody hit up the Troy CC? I'm filling these 2 500GB's up pretty quickly, it'd be nice to have another or possibly RAID.

According to someone on FW a minimum purchase price is applicable. Said min purchase price is 127 according to the rebate center. YMMV for sure on this. I think I'll fill up my 300Gb first and get solid state in a year

All 3 stores around me show in stock. Will stop by nearest on way home to see about picking one up. 500gb sata for $60 sounds real nice.

I tried that and it came up as $170 shelf still. Oh well.
