Ugh, I'm having a hard time in this thread sifting through info about the drive and discussions on storage measurements.
I'm really liking the 6TB and I want to use it as a backup drive, but I also don't want to have to change it out in a year if it fails...is 1TB per platter pretty standard/reliable these days? I'm assuming the 4TB drives are 4x 1TB platters? Is there a reason there aren't many 5TB drives? Couldn't they just use 5 - 1TB platters (and possibly not have to change the physical location of the screws in the drive)?
