I have a raid external enclosure and want to buy two of the 7200.12's as a backup solution.

I've read that they are thinner because of the single platter (I would expect they run cooler also) which appeals to me because I don't want to use the fan on my external enclosure.

A lot of online shops have them listed, but out of stock (coming soon right) ...

A few say they are already in stock ... like PcRush (never heard of 'em, never used 'em ... seem to get good reviews)

GA-965P-S3 motherboard. Win XP 32bit with everything up to date.

I do not know if it that is OK or not - may be I have missed some settings to gain even more performance, but check it out if interested.
