Anyone get news of new shipments into BB on these?

I spoke with a BB employee yesterday. He claims this was a "2 day clearance" sale because BB overstocked on these. There were a bunch of these on the shelf yesterday but at the lame loser price of $99.

csr told me that they originally wanted to have it 49.99 AR but they someone f*cked up and listed them on ad and self tag as just 49.99. he never heard of a two day clearance and thinks that they (BB) made it up to cover their ass.

I didnt even see them on the shelves, I checked on tuesday. they only had the bigger seagates

Sounds like someone at corpate screwed up this one (FYI those tags printed up automatically from the merch server overnight)- They also covered thier asses by closing off 'fulfilment' until tommarrow, so they could re-print all the price tags.

Someone screwed up big time. I was shocked to see the price myself a couple days ago. We had about 10 on the shelf and by the time I went on lunch, they where all gone (grab mostly by the employees)

Im just pissed cause I've missed two good HD deals in a row now (first OD $75 drive, now this... )
What makes me even more upset is because Im a good person, I get screwed. I knew I should have just grabed one and threw it behind the answer center.

I checked in Heath OH (Near East of Columbus) and they didn't have one 80 GB drive.... nor did they have the clearence price. Talked to the manager of the department and said they never had the clearence, but would check for me anyhow... Computer showed two in the store but he couldn't find them. Anywho, going back today (Sunday) to see if they found them and the clearence is up. He did state that if one BB had the price, they all did... whatever. I'll let you know if they're on clearence.

No rebates rule, but the post on 120 GB for $60 is a much better deal... however I have some BB g/c from black friday I need to use. >8)

Edit: My drives rang up at $99 too... but the clerk retrieved the "Clearence Tag" and they sold them at the discounted $49 price....

BB has the 80GB WD 8MB cache online for $89 and there is a 30 rebate. Maybe an alternative for those that missed the Seagate or just don't want to do a lot of driving.

I got mine last friday. I ordered it on the 27th and they automatically adjusted the price to $50. I used the electronic cash I got from the JBL speaker deal a couple months ago so they only charged my card like $4. Heres the good part. When I ordered it there was a $40 MIR. All together (brag) I'm getting around $35 back. So if any one ordered it the week before go get the price adjusted and mail in the rebate on the BB rebates page.
