Edit: price changed, bing method changed

$119.99 - 12% BingCB ($14.40) - $30 rebate = $75.59 shipped free

Bing cashback - search for ST32000542AS under bing shopping, select the TD retailer of your choice (circuitcity, TD, compusa)
**if you take the sponsored link listed in the old post to get 13.2% BCB, you will probably see a new "ineligible" message for this product. It's probably a bad idea to go this 13.2% route.

Hard drive link - not really needed - for info only
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...ku=TSD-2000AS2

Rebate link (seach for "TD-5155")
http://www.worldwiderebates.com/customer/default.aspx

The rebate is NOT directly linked on ANY of the TD-related product pages. I don't know why. The model number, retailer(s) and item numbers all tie exactly to the rebate form, so there should be no problem.

Old post below - don't use
*******************************************
$109.97 - 13.2% BingCB ($14.52) - $30 rebate = $65.45 shipped free

Bing cashback - search for video card, take the sponsored link at the top to tiger

Hard drive link

And now, let the Seagate/Bing/TD flaming begin...

Hmmm, hard to flame at that price!

I worry too much I'm sure, but I wish the rebate was linked at TD.

Haven't done oem drives before, but dont the rebates need a UPC cut out, and this drive is an OEM purchase, so that may not come with the required UPC?

No worries. OEMs come with a UPC.

I do not wish to start an argument, but....

The UPC is usually on the box. You have to use a box cutter or scissors to cut out that part of the cardboard box, and include that with the mailed in rebate submission. OEM hard drives that I have purchased in the past do NOT come with a box, so how would they have a UPC?

OEM drives from TD come in a clamshell with a TD UPC.

worldwiderebates.com seems to be a relaunch of onrebate.com, which has a lot of consumer complaints. Are these guys legit?

http://mail.rebatemailer.net/
It does indeed seem to be a relaunch. I've done around 7 rebates with them the last couple of months and haven't had any problems yet. I almost always choose the fast option though.

The rebate doesn't exist on the Tiger Direct page so I would actually be a little leery. A phone call would be in order on this one before purchase.

@esquared

True, calling might be a good idea. Although, phone reps are often not helpful.

The rebate form shows the same model number and store. It looks like a good risk to me.

Mostly. I've done several successful rebates with them, and one that they denied for bogus reasons (recent 1.5TB Seagate deal from TD). I'm still peeved about it, and resubmissions seem to go into a black hole.

I bought one two weeks ago, offer 5145, and the drive came in a clamshell with a sheet of paper with the UPC etc on it and instructions to return the whole sheet of paper. Deal lasted for a week or so, so I am happy to wait until the rebate is sorted out (shows up on the tigerdirect site), then I'm in for one to get my mirror pair.

I've done the same thing. Was waiting for another good deal, and this even beats the first one.

Tempting, went to Bing, searched 'video', went to TD and found the drive, but for me the hard drive page has this at the top of the screen in red:
This product is excluded from the Cashback program. Adding this product to the cart will make this order ineligible for Cashback.

Did they end it already?

Hmm. When I did it (just before my post right above yours), it displayed the BCB right under the price of the product. I bought, and I have 14.52 pending in my BCB account.

This is how TD ships OEM drives. The packaging is poor to say the least. But the piece of paper does have the UPC. Almost every product out there has a UPC, they kinda have too

This "ineligible" message shows up for me too. It did not show up like this yesterday.

This is slightly odd, since you can search for the drive model (ST32000542AS) in bing shopping, and find links to compusa, tigerdirect, and circuitcity ALL showing 12% cashback. This might be the safer way to go.

Price raised to $119 before rebate.

Tried again from home, same message.

The 1.5TB one is available w/ cash back though, so they must have met their quota on the 2TB model. I don't trust the 1.5TB to pull the trigger although the 89.99-11.88 CB makes it tempting.

No red letters for me, but no BCB either. That and rebate not listed on the Tiger rebate list, I think I will wait for a clearer situation.
