I usually dont chime in on others arguements but I have 3 out 4 for maxtor drive die on me and never a seagate. I still have 3 seagate drive 6 GB and less running in computers.

That 14-0 for seagate and 3-1 for maxtor. And yeah it was my systems too. I must looked them wrongs. Sorry but stating he did something wrong with his systems is more BS then him saying watch out for this batch of drives, since they screwed my over.

I went to local Frys and they had pallet full of these near the entrance asking for $109.. 500GB version asking for $169. Not sure how many they've sold at that prices.
They might be getting ready for big sale on these over weekend.. gonna wait one more day and see.

The people there seemed new and girl at the checkout called the supervisor on the phone for approval and he didn't even come look at the ad that I had brought with me. I went over then got the hard drive and I put the printout back into my pocket. The supervisor then came up and did the 110% pricematch....no questions asked.

Nice deal then, except you paid taxes and that makes the deal almost even. Most Staples won't do that, you got lucky!

maxtors are the same things as the seagates. I have 2 200 gig drives, ones a maxtor and the other a seagate and they are nearly identical. I think they are just seagates with a maxtor sticker on the front.
