So I borked my 320gb -- Maxtor rebadge that I got for $60 from Frys.com. I was playing around with lighting in my case and my hand ran into the SATA cable and broke the retaining tab.

So I RMA'ed my drive and 10 days later I get a 750gb Seagate Barracuda (7900.10) back. How awesome is that!!

Seagate forever!

When did you find out that they were sending you the 750GB model? Did you see it on the RMA status page? I just RMA'd my 250GB Seagate drive and my RMA status page shows that they shipped a refurbished model of the same one I sent in.

I'm curious...when you RMAd the borked drive did you state that you broke the retaining tab while working on the PC or that it just broke of its own accord?

unless you're doing something wrong or have like 20 in there, two dying in a year doesn't rock IMHO.

I have nothing wrong with this 400GB hard drive...HD was only 325GB avaiable space when I tried to install Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 demo then HD died on me all of sudden.

Wait...400GB hard drive might have some problems that might be the reason Seagate is no longer selling 400GB and I still have Seagate 300GB running for 2 years now.

Good for you, that happens sometimes, but it's rare. I once got a 20GB 7200RPM drive in exchange for a 5400RPM 13.6GB drive (you can probably guess this was a while back). I was hoping Hitachi would hook me up when my 7k250 died last month (with only 1 month left on its warranty ), but they sent me a refurb of the same drive.
