Seagate ST3320620AS-RK (RETAIL)

Does anyone know where I can buy the Seagate ST3320620AS-RK? This the retail version, not the OEM bare drive that all the etailers try to sell us. Anandtech's RTPE has a couple of etailers listed as having 'retail' drives, but when you go to their site, it's always the OEM version.

And, yes, I do want the cables and software.

True, but I am also finding out that the warranty is different with the OEM versus the retail.

All seagate drives have 5 year warranty, oem or retail..

There is OEM like drives sold to newegg..

there is also OEM like drives told to dell/hp which warranty only comes from dell/hp not seagate, those are warrant for the period you buy off the server/desktop... a lot of ebay people pull drives and sell as new but those drives does not have seagate warranty

Thats newegg's policy not Seagates is what he is telling you. The Newegg warranty is different but not Seagates. So after Newegg's is up Seagates is still in affect

Usually when you buy something from a store, they give you exchange period or returns.. like when you buy a vaccum from sears.. after the 14 / 30 days you have to deal with the manufacture...

same with newegg, first whatever day you can return/exchange with newegg, but after that, you deal with manufacture (seagate)

seagate offers 5 years on all their drives.. except to oem integrator (dell/hp)

Also, some (not all) of their external drives only have a 1 year warranty.

How much of a hurry are you to get one? Frys.com often has deals on hard drives, but they come and go. Most of the time they are on the 400GB or 500GB ones, but occasionally the smaller ones. They are almost always retail box from Frys (and they do specify).
