They despise him, but they realize coverage of him drives ratings. Pure and simple, they have no choice in the matter.

NYT is quality journalism, but they've been veering off that track for a while now. I still pay my monthly dues and enjoy reading it but this past election was anything but fair journalism. Their election coverage turned into just being a propaganda arm for Hillary. Tried to cancel so they countered with several months at a really reduced rate so I stayed on board (their non-election coverage is top notch).
CNN is a joke, more so than the other major news outlets. They didn't attempt to even pretend to be fair, I'd put them into the same category as Breitbart or Huffpo. Would anyone argue that Breitbart has an undeniable right to attend the briefings?
