This is a computer I recently recommended to another person. The RAM and monitor aren't quite what you were looking for, but you should be able to get them to where you want them for about $300 or so more, which still keeps you well below your limit of $2500...

And the Lord recognized that a great scourge had befallen his flock. And so he approacheth one particularly sullen, confused soul. And the Lord, with surprising reflexes for a man His age, did smacketh the downtrodden soul with the back of His hand. And the Lord saideth to the man, "How many times do I have to tell you! If you want it done right, build it thyself!"

And there was happiness and contentment across the land. Amen.

Actually I have been looking at dell. My computer presently is a dell, and I have had few problems with it and it runs very fast. They just are more expensive then most. But if dell has it for that price, someone must have similar for less! thanks, the search goes on!!

If you want DDR you have to go Micron.
AFAIK they are the only OEM making DDR PCs ATM.

Dell makes decent systems, but RDRAM is slower than PC133 and is at least 2x as expensive if not more. However then you would have RDRAM and would be better set to get molested by the price of a Pentium4.

If you can find a decent dell without rambus they are probably a good choice.

Agreed.

You'll find that not many here are interested or even knowledgable about OEMs like Dell and Compaq, because we all typically piece together choice components and build them ourselves. I made the suggestion earlier through a half-hearted attempt at biblical style writing, but you maintained that you were looking for a pre-built system - which is fine.

I'm sure there are those on ZDnet or other mainstream computer news sites who will be better able to point you in the right direction for a pre-built solution to your holy crisis.

Regards,
Craig

Alright, thanks. I would build my own computer, but I don't know how. Thanks for being reasonable. Could you maybe reccommend me a good, simple book about building one. Maybe a free website?
