Searching for monitor driver

hey guys, i'm running winxp pro right now and my monitor is being detected as just a plug and play so i want to install the correct drivers for it

unfortunately the monitor is a Shamrock 19" which is about 3 years old and now it seems Shamrock have gone out of business, and i haven't had much luck searching for their drivers.... could anyone assist me to find them?

*edit* it seems there are only windows 9x drivers floating around...noooooo... is there any way to use another monitor's driver instead?

thanks for the links, but they contain win9x .inf files which xp doesn't recognise as a driver

I'm not trying to be mean but why couldn't you just use the standard windows driver. Is there a generic windows driver that the computer will let you choose?

Try this utility to find the actual manufacturer and model of your monitor. It may not be a "Shamrock" monitor. My "View Mate" is actually manufactured by Likom.

However, if your monitor is being detected as a "Plug and Play" monitor, there is no make/model specific monitor INF required for your monitor. That's the point of VESA/DDC/EDID Plug and Play design.

Often the plug and play monitor driver is fine but my monitor for instance is capable of 1600 x 1200 and the plug and play driver only allows 1280 x 1024 for my monitor....plus it doesn't allow 100hz or 120hz at some resolutions too.

I have found that the .inf file for my Belinea 103070 has worked with win98, me, 2000 and xp....same file each time...

But yours does not? is there are particular resolution or refresh rate you know you should be able to access but cannot?
