Searching for the best 140mm fan

What is the best (as in quietness) 140mm case fan? Preferably in the 1000-1500rpm range with PWM. Any recommendations?

Noctua NF-P14 FLX is the best 140mm for quietness, and it also delivers some solid performance.

Noctua allows for lower RPM but Thermalright TY-140 has seriously good airflow for the price and for the noise level

I have the Thermalright TY-140 on the HR-02 Macho. It's very quiet.

Well, I did. Right now it's waiting to be re-mounted with new fan clips. But for the time I ran it, it was quiet.

Corsair AF140s are good too. The fan in the noctua link above may not fit if used as an exhaust fan on the rear. Many cases have limited clearance in the rear exhaust area.

I picked one up over the weekend for the exhaust and it fits fin in my case and it's quiet. Used the white ring since it's in a Fractal. I also wanted a fan with similar RPMs as the 1000 RPM stock fans.

Yes I'm torn betweeen the Noctua NF-P14 FLX and the Corsair AF140. I'm tempted by the AF140s because ~$30/fan seems steep for the Noctuas.

You will be happy with the AF140. It even comes with a 7v resistor to reduce the fan speed. At 1150rpm you still can't even hear it!

In the 2012 builds we switched away from noctua nf-p14 flx to these ffans . we still like the noctua .
this is far and away the best fan we have used . good flow yet quite.
