DISCLAIMER: I think this falls into both general hardware and laptop forums. Since this forum has a wider audience I've posted it here. If admin sees fit its fine to move it to laptop section.
Basically what I am looking for:
VERY small form factor if possible. Thin, narrow, lightweight (MAX 5 pounds/2.3 KG) and a somewhat sturdy casing (some metal/alloy would be a cool bonus) are what I want.
Video can be onboard 2 meg for all I care (its not for games).
Display (I'd go for as small as 8" or even 6" if need be... uxga, svga, wxga i dont know the diff as long as console text is readable)
No optical/floppy drives (cdrw/cdrom/dvd) needed
Hard drive doesn't even have to be large... I'd settle for 10 gigs but it seems most come with 20 or 30 now
RAM... 256-512 would be nice (or expandable to that much)
CPU... preferably the most power possible... but id even go for a crusoe or via
1 PCMCIA slot, couple USB and thats all I need (built in 802.11b, 10/100mbit ethernet, and/or 56k modem would be a huge bonus but not needed).
Battery life the longer the better, but 2-3 hours is minimum IMO.
If you know anywhere or any model like this please respond I'm very thankful.
