I needed some mounting rails for the catch-pan on my Weber grill, 2 small L-shaped pieces of aluminum that had rusted out, after checking out several places that specialize in grill parts I found them at Sears parts direct for $2.99+$4.50 shipping, the next closest place wanted $15 +6.95 for shipping. Just a heads up for everyone that might need appliance or mower or grill parts, if parts direct can sell them to me for $2.99 there must be a hell of a markup on parts!. Anyway, check out Sears parts direct first and I had them in 4 days to. I know many of the "garage" crowd are fix-it-yourself types (like me) so I hope this saves you guys/gals some $$

Just ordered a new V-Belt for my self-propelled mower tonight from there (odd seeing a thread pop up lol). You are right, it was cheaper than Amazon!

I recently had great luck with partselect.com for washing machine repairs. Used them twice-a second unrelated problem happened a week after my first repair. Things I like about their site:

-cover most appliances
-great schematics
-very functional diagnosis feature, at least in my experience. You type in what your problem is and it posts suggested solutions-with a percentage of the number of times a successful resolution
-excellent how-to videos, including how to disassemble to get at the part (also don't forget youtube for this)
-reasonable shipping-seems to be actual cost
-for me at least (New England location) extremely prompt shipping-I'd get the part one or two days after placing the order.

I was somewhat unimpressed with Sears in regards to the shipping costs. I bought an air filter, foam gasket and gas cap for a leaf blower. $10 in parts, $9 in shipping costs. Came in a padded envelope. Really Sears?

Oh man, I remember when I worked at Sears and the shit fit customers threw when we ordered parts for them and had to charge shipping. People thought we were intentionally trying to screw them over but in reality, we just had no say in it. Parts Direct is its own entity.

They're the first place I check for appliance parts.

One thing, with weber in particular, is half the time they'll send you stuff like that for free. If they charge you they often throw in 'freebies'. Might try calling their 1800 number.

Yea, Weber is known for great customer service, I can't rightfully ask for replacement parts for a 2003 model grill though, I've only had to replace the cooking grates once and the "flavorizer bars" once, the burners and gas controls are original and still work perfectly, can't complain!..

I ordered 2 brushes for a lawn mower engine, will fit in a regular envelope and are maybe 100g, $10 dollar shipping.

See!! It's not just me!

Huh, don't know how they calculate that much for an envelope, I was only charged $4.95 for the same type of package. Well in any event I guess all of us can learn to check shipping charges before you hit the "buy" button. I do know that the prices overall seem lower than other "specialty" grill-parts sites..
