Went to my local store and they had 0. Was going to order online and got this:

Sears.com is temporarily closed for site enhancements.
Thank you for visiting.
Let us email you when we re-open please click here.

Have to try later. Is this worth paying shipping on?

hmmmm I dont know! Its a good deal for the price but it may be killed for what you may pay in freight. Its actually pretty small...i guess it depends on what they charge you for shipping.

The cheapest shipping was $8.95. Considering the $3 I spent on gas picking it up, it was basically $6 difference. Unless you actually need a toolbox, I do not think this would be a hot deal shipped. I have no complaints about the construction except how the handle is attached to the top.

Thanks for this, my wife went and got one today. It's well worth the $14 purchase price for sure. Sure, it doesn't have ball bearing slides, but the drawers are rather small anyway, it's not like a big heavy duty toolbox to begin with. Closing the lid lowers a rod in the back which locks the drawers in, so if you put a lock on the latch it will lock the lid and the drawers.

Hey thanks for the rebate info. I am a little leary that it doesn't show up on the product page however. It does look like it would apply though.

Picked one up in the Torrance, CA Sears. There were two more out of the box, and one in a damaged box. The two out of box were in good shape except dusty, and the one in a damaged box had a two-inch scuff in the paint that doesn't go through to metal.

The store is pretty sad looking like it's about to go out of business, and the employees are complaining about the AC not working well.

I went and got mine - better than I expected. When I saw it was the 'companion' brand I was a little leary - big figured at $14 I could use it for a junk box or something

It's identical (other than that it's blue) to two other craftsman boxes (albeit the craftsman boxes have 3 and 4 drawers rather than the 2 of the companion) but all in all will hold up just as well (one of the other two is almost 5 years old, the other is ~4)

Personally imo the plastic ones are crap. They're fine for a couple tools, nothing heavy esp on those top trays..... which is their biggest weakness imo - if you leave them in a hot car they warp, and the tray that goes on the inside makes the toolbox itself kind of bow out.

on the otherhand - the steel boxes are heavy. I have 2 decent sized metal craftsman boxes and this companion one - those i dont carry around. In my truck I have a "nice" plastic box that works well, but wouldn't carry as much weight without breaking. although the box itself is nice and light

i went looking for a new metal tool box because i had a plastic one that turned to crap after i put all my tools in it. it was a little larger than the sears companion here, but it was the normal big hole with a tray on top. the plastic would twist and warp on the box with it fully loaded and the handle started coming off (at VERY inconvenient times.) the plastic toolbox did not even last me a year, however, i inherited a smaller sears metal toolbox from my Grandad that he must have had for at least 30 or 40....

i picked up 4 toolboxes directly from the store. 2 for my self and 2 for gifts! on tuesday, the sears in tulsa still had about 15.

I had printed out the ad for my wife and she just walked in the store, handed it to a sears employee, who took her to where they were at and she bought it.

Couldn't get the website to work, so I just crossed my fingers and went to the Tacoma Mall WA store....

Bought 1 of the 2 they had. Box was labeled w/clearance price of $16.xx, but the shelf had a clearance sticker for the $13.97. Checker said if I signed up for a credit card, I could have it for free!... (but I declined the credit-card).

Very nice for $14. Although at the full price, i'd feel ripped off with no compartment divider/small-part holder thingy.
This is a fixable problem with a trip to the Dollar Store.

Thanks a lot, OP! Just what I needed!
