If they cancel the order that I placed with them, I will be filing a report with the BBB. This is completely dishonest business practices to lure people in with a low price and then claim they are out of stock and cancel their orders.

Just what I was thinking when they cancelled my order earlier. That just reeks of bait and switch. I wonder if anyone who ordered at today's $106 price had an order that actually went through?

I'll tell ya, this crap with Ewiz really looks suspicious.
1st they have it in stock for $106, then all of a sudden, there out of stock, then coincidently out of the blue, there back in stock for $160.
This is just plain wrong and I wonder if it's legal.

I choose wait and they cancelled it. looks bad since its available at $160 now. hard to imagine what a reasonable explanation might be.

This is not the first time somebody has posted this about resellerratings but amazingly nobody seems to give them any bad feedback. I just clicked you link and their record still looks good and clean just as it did the last time I looked. I almost jumped on this deal awhile back and bookmarked the page for the 600 @ $106. Then I started reading all the crazy stuff they were doing to people who ordered and for the most part forgot about doing business with them. Yesterday I happend to be going through my bookmarks and clicked on the 600 and sure enough it was back to $106 so today I check this thread only to find ewiz pulling the same crap.

If you got screwed by ewiz on the deal please post it on resellerratings and warn the rest of the tech buyers to avoid these crooks!

I doubt anyone got one for $106 today but I fail to understand their logic. This doesn't help their image.

I was one of the lucky few to get it yesterday at 105.95 shipped. I had the page loaded when it was showing $132 price. When I added it to my cart (around 3:30 pm eastern time) it showed $105.95 with free shipping. I bought it immediately of course. It has already shipped out by UPS with a delivery time of Sept. 7.

I was expecting it to be canceled or something, but I got lucky. It seems like 50% of hot deals are luck and timing anyway. I'm sure this deal will be back soon as it appears to be a standard ewiz selling tactic.

EWiz called and left a message on my phone. They said they would honor the price and ship when they became available in stock. They also asked that I remove any negative feedback. I didn't leave any so that part is easy. Seems that they are concerned with their feedback reputation.

I received a message on my voicemail of this nature as well. If they're really concerned with their reputation, they shouldn't have lied to their customers by saying it was OOS and pulled this stunt to begin with as far as I'm concerned.

BTW from the Reseller Ratings FAQ:

Q: Can I offer a customer goods, services, or monies, to alter a negative review to a positive review or to remove their review?

A: No, you may not do this. While we would never stand in the way of a merchant working to resolve customer complaints and we encourage you to correct any errors and to satisfy your customers whenever possible, you may not request that a customer alter or remove their review in exchange for monetary consideration of any kind. Customers are always able to edit their reviews at any time should they choose to do so. If this policy is violated, some possible actions include: posting your solicitations to your company's reviews page, or revoking any or all features of your complimentary ResellerRatings merchant account.

Anyone know how one would go about reporting this to RR? If all of us keep falling for these 'bait-and-switch and then kiss-and-make-up' deals from them, no one is ever going to see any negative feedback and the same thing will happen again and again.

You guys are right. We should be letting others know to stay away from these bastards. I went ahead and voiced my opinion from the last time this garbage happened. Hopefully others will do the same.

Agreed, but I'm thinking BBB needs to investigate their business practices if they keep this up.

Not letting them bait you into not leaving a negative reference by promising you things is a good place to start

I don't really know the history of what this company has done before but as long as I get my power supply for the invoiced price I won't worry with negative feedback. If, however I still don't get the PS in a reasonable amount of time I will post negative feedback also.

I'm not sure I understand why they would have the product advertised for a certain price and not honor at least a certain amount of the orders. It doesn't make me want to buy one from them at a higher price after they cancelled my order. If anything, even without the negative feedback, this pactice seems to me like it would hurt business.

It was most likely a wrong price and they made it right. So I am going to be leaving positive feedback. This company is LOSING money on me to make sure they keep their rep. I think that is a good call. Most companies would just say screw you and move on...

For CA residents, bestbyte.net had the S12 600 a week ago for around $130 plus shipping, no tax... that's where I got mine S12 from.

They've always been a stand-up company with some hard to find parts!

It was not a wrong price...they have been dropping it to this price many times.

But if you read through the thread you'll see they've sold the same PSU at the $106 price on multiple occasions in the past, and they've also pulled this same stunt before. During the most recent occasion at least one person seems to have gotten their order through at the discounted price. How can it be a wrong price only part of the time or for certain people?

As far as I'm concerned, they lost their rep as soon as they lied to their customers. That's no way to conduct business and really what miffs me the most. Telling us that it was out of stock after ordering at the lower price, then putting it back up on the site hours later at the original price. Telling people they would be put on a wait/backorder list, then subsequently cancelling all orders. THEN after some public backlash surfaces, they backtrack and decide to do some damage control. Offering to honor the price is a nice gesture, but not lying in the first place wouldn't have required them to take this extra step to save face.

All IMHO of course.

Well, I am still happy to get the deal from them and will be also purchasing more from them in the future. It is a little hassle but to get it for this price it is well worth it. I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
