Hey guys, I'm looking for a PSU like the Seasonic X-660, but more affordable.
I really want a Quiet PSU, as my Corsair TX650M is quite loud.
I saw the Antec TP-750 which is a seasonic built unit, and is about $60 cheaper than the X-660. How is the Antec? Any other brands\models that are quiet and good?

My computer specs:
Intel DZ77BH-55K Mobo
Intel Core i7 2600k (stock)
8GB DDR3 (2x4Gb)
Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti
Western Digital 7200RPM Caviar Black
Crucial M4 SSD

you would be fine with a 500w unit, unless you plan on going SLI at some point soon. that should save you some cash.

What's your case, case fans, CPU cooler and 560 Ti model? Buying a super quiet PSU won't matter unless your whole build is designed with quietness in mind.

Where are you buying from? The US?

Corsair 550D with the stock Corsair fans
EVGA Geforce 560ti
so far I've determinded the PSU makes the most noise in my system, case fans are quiet, Video card only gets loud when gaming, stock intel cooler isn't too bad unless running prime 95.
The price difference between the X-560 and X-660 is $10, but I rather buy something comparable , but cheaper.

Agree, generally Seasonic built bronze units are quiet. TX650M is a CWT unit, TX 650 V2 would probably be quieter

Your total power draw isn't that high, esp. if you run the 560 Ti at stock as well. If you overvolt and oc the hell out of the 560 Ti you might manage to get your system to peak at 300W at most. I would recommend something like a Rosewill Capstone 450W Gold built by Super Flower for $60 shipped at newegg.com (if Canada then newegg.ca should have similar prices). Just a hell of a value, highly efficient, 444 watts available on the 12v rail, and excellent reviews:

You get what you pay for, there's no such thing as a PSU just as good as the Seasonic at a much lower price.

I used to be a Seasonic True Believer until they started charging way too high of a premium for many of their PSUs. I looked for alternatives and liked some of them, such as the Super Flower high-efficiency designs (Gold and Plat). I guess you're a fan too if you recommended the 450W Capstone Gold as well.

Best of luck to you OP. If you are paying anywhere near retail then you're paying too much for a PSU that sounds like it may be secondhand (local pickup?), for wattage you won't use, and then paying more on top of that in the form of lower efficiency and more waste heat.

even if he is paying a premium for the SeaSonic M12II, it may be worth the extra $ for a better/quieter fan. sure, the reviewers have great things to say about the Super Flower built Rosewill unit, but Martin himself says (in the AT review you linked above) that the fan/bearing could be better...even though he said that the noise is "satisfying," whatever that means....that's probably open to interpretation, but its something the OP should at least take into consideration, since silence is his main criterion.

If you think Martin was being hard on the Globe fan then you ought to hear his opinion Yate Loons that are in many Antec-rebadged Seasonic units. (At least one of the M12II series uses ADDA fans so I am not saying that it's the case for that particular series.)

Also, please keep this in mind: higher efficiency means less wattage from the wall is wasted as heat, which means less need for the fan to spin up to discharge the heat. A better fan is not an elegant solution to fan noise; higher efficiency is the more elegant solution. In fact if you had a theoretical 100% efficient PSU, the PSU would not even really need cooling at that point. Only your components would (so you would still need fans on CPU/GPU etc.). This point seems to get lost on some people who think that buying pricier, oversized (relative to their needs), less efficient PSUs with beefy fans is a better solution than buying cheaper, right-sized, more efficient PSUs with more modest (but still good, and still ball-bearing) fans.

Just finished installing my brand new Seasonic M12II 620watt, I must say this thing is silent! I got the 620watt because the 520 was only $10 cheaper, so I figured spend an extra $10 and get the bigger capacity.

Currently the only thing that makes much noise is the stock Intel CPU cooler, I had an ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 cooler, but put the stock cooler back on because the Freezer 7 mounting bracket covers a bunch of capacitors, and they couldnt' get airflow. I don't wanna damage the capacitors\my mobo so I removed the cooler once I saw that.
