Yet, you're still here? Why?

I hate Seattle too, but I'm stuck here for about 2 more years before I can leave. :/

Maybe it was Kyle or someone else. Idk, there's plenty of people on here who have hardons for Seattle because they think it's a decent place. It sucks. People are hellishly unfriendly. You only get friendly people when they want to take something from you or when they're not from Seattle.

Different strokes for different folks.

I loved living in Seattle. It is an ok place to visit and a great place to live IMO.

It seems that no matter where you go some people love it and some people hate it. I can't believe some people love Dallas but they do, go figure.

MotionMan,

Let us know what you end up doing. Hope you get to see the Blue Angels, even if you just get to see them flying over the city during their performance. It's pretty awesome. They used to actually buzz some of the skyscrapers downtown to announce the arrival of the Navy ships for Seafair, but they've placed some flight restrictions on them over the years.

It's also going to be pretty hot by Seattle standards, you could always hit up the Aquarium or Museum of Flight.

the space needle/music museum/aquarium are all in close proximity and depending on walk speed can take several hours to go through.

Which is also in proximity to Pike Market. I'd just go downtown and hang out there.

So, the best laid schemes of mice and men...

On Saturday, we arrived at LAX at about 7:15 a.m. for out 8:30 a.m. flight and learned that the flight had been cancelled (allegedly due to mechanical problems). By the time we got to the front of the service line, it was about 7:45 a.m. It was only at that time that we were informed that we had been re-booked on an 8:00 a.m. flight. Of course, by then, it was too late to get on that flight.

Eventually, we were booked on a flight ... at 3:10 p.m. ... at John Wayne Airport in Irvine! (about 60 miles away).

We were given vouchers for Super Shuttle and were on our way.

Well, sort of. It turned out the shuttle was not a direct LAX-SNA ride. We made stops in Long Beach, Seal Beach and Huntington Beach before finally arriving at John Wayne ... at 10:00 a.m.

My wife and I had attended U.C. Irvine, so we knew the area and were able to come up with a plan to keep from getting bored (we had our 8 year old with us). We took a taxi to the Fashion Island Mall, had lunch at CPK and did a little shopping (I got new athletic shoes).

We eventually made our way back to the airport, got on out flight and made it to Seattle at about 6:00 p.m. The Out-Of-Towners' Dinner started at 7:00 p.m. - After going to the hotel and changing, we made it at 7:20 p.m.

Needless to say, we did no sight-seeing on Saturday (except for the view from the 75th floor of the building the dinner was in).

We did get to Pike Market, the monorail, Space Needle and a cool fountain on Sunday before the wedding.

Our trip back was, thankfully, uneventful.

Not the best weather for an outdoor wedding. Luckily, it was in a tent, so we were not in the sun, but most of the sides were down, so the airflow sucked.

I think I may just throw out the shirt.
