Second hard drive keeps "unplugging" itself

Last night I had to shut down my computer a few times because my video card was acting up, but when I fixed that, my second hard drive keeps unplugging itself in Windows 2000. It is a Western Digital WD1200JB.

I ran a dos-boot diagnostic program on it, but the drive had no errors on it. I've also tried formatting it in Windows 2000's disk manager, I've updated to the latest BIOS for my motherboard and I installed the latest nForce2 drivers for everything. Nothing works. It gets detected fine in the BIOS, but as the computer is booting up (before the Windows loading screen) I get a very quick I/O error that goes by too fast for me to read.

So all it does, and all it has been doing, is, working for about 5 minutes, or until I try doing something to it. Like installing something or even looking in the drive. Then that Unsafe Removal of Device window pops up about 4 times yelling at me that I've unplugged my hard drive.

My primary master device is a Western Digital 80gb, my primary slave is the WD1200JB, and my primary master is my CD/DVD-ROM.

Have you tried switching the IDE cables around? Also, what PSU are using? Thirdly, it probably would help to know what the problem with your video card was, as it seems to be semi-related.

No, havn't tried switching the cables around yet, I'll try that next. I'm using an Allied 400watt PSU. The video card's fan was just acting up because of too much dust, so I took it out to clean it up.
