Second HDD install in Vista Ultimate x64

Hi Guys!

A fresh Vista x64 install here on a WD HDD. I then installed a second WD HDD which the BIOS sees (it actually sees both drives at this point) but Vista doesn't. The second installed drive is not partitioned or formatted. How do I get NTFS on it if I can't see the drive in Vista when I boot. I tried searching for a solution but didn't get far with that.

I wonder if anyone can help me with this.

Do as you suggested.....

You have to activate it in device manager. Is it brand new? Go to start > control panel > admin tools > computer management > disk drives (local) and tell us if you see it there.

Alas, my original suggestion was that I had no idea how to format or partion this drive thus my asking for help. The detailed instructions of Axon hit the nail on the head. Thanks so much! Much appreciate it!

I've used XP until 5 minutes ago when forced to upgrade. I'm new at this Vista thing.

Its exactly the same process as in XP. Right click on My Computer (Computer in vista) then select manage. Then Disk management.

When moving from XP to Vista I found it to be easier to find things. Sort of like going from Office 2003 to 2007. Its not the same for everyone though.
