Secondary Display adaptor in Xp

Hi I just built a new comp with a asus a7n8x-x motherboard, radeon 9600pro, 512meg ddr33, barton 2500 using windows xp pro as OS. My problem is that in device manager under Display adaptors it shows radeon 9600 series and radeon 9600 series secondary. I believe this secondary adaptor to be the cause of my problem with AOM failing to intialize. I've tried removing it but xp just reinstalls it on reboot. I have the lastest drivers for everything and xp is up to date. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

The 9600 Pro has two connectors (VGA and DVI). The system will automatically recognize both and set up video 1 and 2. This shouldn't be the problem -- there are four computers here that have dual inputs, but only one device connected. What is the problem?

As DocDon said, this is normal. You can go into device manager and disable the device, but unless your actually using it I doubt it causing a problem (every Radeon 9600, 9700 and 9800 out there does this)

The problem is that after installing Age of Mythology I get a "initialization failed" error when the game tries to go to the main menu. I searched the mircosoft help and the only thing I can see that might be a problem is mulitply display adapters. Otherwise everything is within spec , I even tried reinstalling the game and different catalyst drivers but no help. The game works fine with my radeon 8500, but no go with the 9600pro. I know it's off the initial topic but if you guys could help I would sure appreciate it.

Have you install the MS update on WU that is for the "game may fail or hang after the opening video?" I know that it is there I just dont' t have the time to go look to see what one it is. I have seen issues with a 9700 Pro and UT2K3 like that.
