I have an epox 8kta+ with a duron 700 in Win2k. The primary IDE channel appears to work OK (knock wood!!), i.e. detected as UDMA and HDD works fine. The secondary IDE has a CDROM and a CD-RW (Iomega12x10). That channel always shows up in PIO mode. If I choose to upgrade drivers for the channel and restart (reinstall the same driver), it shows up as DMA (and sometimes UDMA!) and later, after another reboot, goes back to PIO.
Is this a problem with the VIA drivers for KT133 or is this a problem because of the Iomega CDRW? ANd how do I correct it?
Thank you.
