Discussion Secured, Encrypted but FREE eMail services?

The only one I know of and use is ProtonMail. It seems to work fine but they also nag for paid upgrades. The other free services like mail.com aren't encrypted as fas as I know.

Suggestions?

Proton now mentions they also have a free (but limited) VPN service.

Not sure if this fits your needs but i believe Thunderbird email client allows you to encrypt using PGP. Probably other clients too?
