Family is all there. Brother enters the Police Academy in August, I'm going to help Uncle at his TV shop for a bit, maybe work with cousin building custom bikes. Atlanta and Raleigh both have decent concert venues, I may go see the IATSE union people.
I also have a small sound system I'm keeping and taking back there. A few gigs a month to keep me and the cat in Ramen and Tuna will be ok.

DEAH LOWD! :Q

That's borderline insane.. lol

I thought 800$/mo for a 2 bedroom(not sure of square footage.. pretty small, maybe 1250) was quite a bit..
No kidding. It is convenient , though. Bay Bridge less than 2 minutes away, BART is a free Emeryville Bus ride of 15 - 20 minutes. Less than 15 minutes to Cal, home of William Hung.....

BTW, Thanks to all for the good cheer. I'm kinda depressed in general, and the comaraderie (sp?) is feeling kind of nice.

Very true. I've been employed since December, and my almost 1 year old Monster.com resume posting that hasn't been updated is getting hits from recruiters.

Yeah, HK is pricey, so is Tokyo.

With my Irish Luck, I'll get a killer job about 24 hours after signing the papers to sell.

Try NYC.
The difference there is that salaries are actually high enough to make it worth it. VB programmer for 100k anyone?

let's be honets. Every state has there fair share of yokels, red necks, asshats, assclowns and the like. They just seem to stand out more when you move to a new area, or maybe you are percieved as the yokel when you are the new guy. Anyhow good luck in South Carolina. You've got the beach close, mountains as well, and for the most part polite southern people, and most likely a hell of a lot less traffic to contend with. Gotta find the positive in all things when change happens!

$1250/month for 650 sq ft! :Q My family room is that big. Geesh, how does someone live in such a small box? No wonder you're depressed.

I hope you mean "the cat on ramen and tuna," unless of course you're selling him to the Korean restaurant.

LOL. The prices of real estate are out of control in some areas. I am glad I don't have those worries.

SF is grossly expensive to live in.. when I went to visit there last year with my ex we thoroughly enjoyed San Fran. I mean totally fell in love with it, great climate, nice people, and lots of things to do. Then I check the real estate prices and to have something comparable to what I have now would cost me upwards of 400-500k. Anything on the "slightly rich side" would be around 900k+

Maybe when I win the lottery or something :|
