If anyone has one or knows of a review please let me know. Have a Rad5C now and looking for something just a little bigger with out the contrast issue I seem to get with the Rad5c (May just be a lcd thing to my untrained eye). It seems to be too bright or not bright enough all the time, cant get that happy medium.

Link to the FP 767 at BenQ

Sounds like a dang good lcd

We have four of those in our company. Not good at all. The text image is very blurry with or without cleartype. Compare to the Viewsonic LCD at my home, it is really not worth it to buy Benq. Yes, I know Benq ones are cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Hmm that dont sound good. I figured with the 16ms response time and 500:1 contrast ratio they were making a good product but were just unknown and new to the market is reason for the low price. Is this the new 767? Do you know if the ones you have at work are the more recent 767 models? Its my understanding they just redid the panels and gave all the others a S (like 567S instead of 567) except did not add the S to the 767 model for some reason. But it is my understanding that it is a updated model with the new better specs.

Well heck, now what to do :/

Very limited budget and was going to move up from this KDS Rad 5c to a 17" lcd. Anyone know of a low profile (as in not my Samsung 900p that takes up way too much space) decent 19" tube monitor? Preferably true flat screen.

Benq doesn't make the panel.
The current 16ms LCD (Benq, Hitachi, Planar) monitor's panel is made by a taiwan panel maker.

Please don't rate down Benq because you find the display quality is not good.

More than half of the LCDs in the world are made in Taiwan, Viewsonic included. Even from same manufacturer, it is the brand and model that differentiate different LCDs. BenQ wasn't bad considering its low price. But, if they do have such a high quality, words would be out long time ago. I just speak from personal experience. If you want reviews, search for a comparision review rather than just a review of this LCD.

BTW, if anyone didn't know yet. BenQ is actually Acer's parts division, renamed a few years ago.

I cannot find any comparison, shopper comments, or any reviews on the 767 or the 567, at least not in English. I have saw a few sites but cannot read the language required so I do not understand what they are saying.

If this uses the same panel as the Planar & Hitachi I have saw those getting very good reviews. :?

Hmm now what to do.

I disagree with you get what you pay for. For years and years USR modems cost ten x their competion and imo were the worst modems made. I had more problems, more conflicts, more issues dealing with USR than ANY other modem company. Yet they still cost much much more.

Yes some name brands do make good products and some make bad. Maybe Benq is making a bad product and it would appear that way from what I have read here so far. But I do not base a products quality on its high or low price.

That's why I buy Zoom modem only now.
It costs as much as USR.

For computer hardware, sometimes you don't get what you pay for, but those are rare cases.

Wow, extremely helpful thread. We are only going on a few *bad* reviews of the benq to conclude that these LCD's are worthless. Please post more responses!!!

All 16ms LCD Matrices are made by AU Optronics a combined company of Fujitsu and Acer Optronics I believe.

This is just the matrices it's up to the manufacturer of the monitor to implement placement of backlite tube which would dictate brightness contrast uniformity etc.
