We know how this works with AMD. Everything is always "still on track..."

And unless one is in denial or suffering delusions, we also know that what that means is add 6 months and you'll have the earliest reasonable timeframe for when you can expect to be able to get your hands on one.

Just like Temash for fanless tablets launched in May, right?

Is the 3.9W part significantly different from the other Temash chips? Products (or product) with those launched before or very shortly after the May 23 release date.

The other Temash chip is a 4C downclocked Kabini.

I ask again...anybody know where I can buy a fanless Temash tablet? lol

AMD is the master of hype and BS.

Actual product launches aren't under AMD's control. Still no sign of the mini-ITX Jaguar boards seen at Computex 2013 along with the Temash tablets.

We do know AMD has been shipping Jaguar, though, as there are some notebooks and desktop systems available. My guess is that retailers are holding off longer due to the soft market, see the same thing with heavily discounted Ivy Bridge systems (especially Ultrabooks). One of the best times to buy, imo, haven't seen such a large discount window to clear out computer stock.

AMD PR is known for doing very PR-ish stuff, including on this forum. Then again, they get paid to do PR, and any real corporation's PR department would do this.

They have to walk a fine line and stay ambiguous enough so that they do not get on the SEC's bad side, which is why they really said nothing at all.

The Mini-ITX boards you were seeing should be retail within 22 days. The Temash fanless tablets are most likely delayed till Fanless Mullins comes out.

If you are expecting a Baytrail ATOM Tablet in September you will be disappointed.

Which has nothing to do with the thread at hand. "But what about Intel?" is not a valid retort in a thread like this.

Maybe yes, but Intel has definitely a way faster execution. I expect the first tablets in October. AMD on the other side, for example they launched Richland mobile in March, 3 months later the first couple of Richland notebooks arrived in the shops. AMD stated in January that the mass production of Richland started. They needed half a year from this point. It was similar with Llano and Trinity.

And when Intel actually started the production of BayTrail ??? in August ??? No they started at least 3-4 months ago.

Its another thing when the product starts to be produced, another thing when its been Introduced and completely a different thing when you see finished products in the retail channel.

Usually it takes 3-4 months for the OEMs to launch their Laptops in retail after they have received the CPUs. It can take more than 6 months for a Laptop to reach the retail channel from the day the OEM started the project.

Ritchland Desktop APUs were available in retail shortly after the release day, Laptops take 3-4 months same with Temash.

As was mentioned earlier, end user products are out of AMD's control. They sell chips, not tablets. As "enthusiasts" I'd expect you all to know this already, which leaves only option #2. You're trolling.

This is abloutely correct. The difference between Intel and AMD is that Intel can do each step way faster. 3-4 months wouldn't be enough for AMD to match Intels execution. They would need 6+ months.

Desktop and notebook are two different things of course.

AMD PR said that Kaveri is on track for 2013. Well that is probably the broadest range any PR person can give for a product schedule. I mean, what part of Kaveri's track is he referring to? Finished silicon by December 31?
Production track? Vague doesn't cover it.

IDC's post pretty well sums up the AMD response to the question.

If I was waiting to start a new build with a Kaveri chip, 2014 sounds pretty realistic. Put on your "patience shoes".

So much for AMD's PR department:
http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/di...firms_Delay_of_Kaveri_Chip_to_Early_2014.html
From the article:
"Advanced Micro Devices has confirmed that its highly-anticipated Kaveri accelerated processing unit that will features a number of innovations related to general-purpose computing on graphics processing units will not be available this year"

and

"Speaking to VR-Zone web-site, Roy Taylor, AMD’s vice president of channel sales, claimed that “AMD never said the launch would be before Christmas” of 2013"

AMD shipped Kabini in April, reviews were end of May. It's only been 10 weeks since launch. I don't think there are any Haswell tablets available yet either.

So explain why Intel claim to start producing 14nm this year yet won't ship until H2 2014? That's a minimum of 6 months from production to shipping.

Because your mind is still stuck in thinking that PC chips are the only thing Intel makes.

Intel will be releasing an LGA Broadwell under the Xeon E3 label, and it will likely come in H1 2014, as the micro-server market is growing like crazy and demands power efficiency, while the desktop PC market is fine and dandy with Haswell:

Lol AMD PR is guilty of doublespeak? Say it isnt so!

Next thing you will tell me that Bulldozer's IPC is lower than Thuban's!
