Based purely on nvidia's reputation, it will be a great product

based purely on statistics and press releases, it will be a great product

Based on any rumors/previews etc. it will be a great product

As long as it's compatible... well, not just compatible, but FULLY compatible with other video card manufacturers, I'll have one. I'm thinking Kyro III + Nforce = GODLY.
But, giving credit to the monopolistic practices in the business, it would probably be a good solution to cut the small companies compatibilities for Nvidia. It could really hurt the Kyro III if the Nforce is not compatible with it and a comparable board isn't put out. Two hyped products hyped together mmmmmmmmmmm!

OOH! and we'll put it with the 28.3 gigahertz Intel "secret" chips that will be coming out shortly I got this buddy who works for Intel man... 28.3 gigahertz by August.. shhh, don't tell anyone.

The best built in graphics ever = low end. Easily disabled and replaced with the best video cards money can buy = low end. Best built in sound ever = low end. Possibly the best memory management system ever = low end. I agree wholeheartedly with your assesment. If you can't tell, that was sarcasm.

I'm also taking a &quot;wait and see&quot; approach. I do believe it will at first have it's share of &quot;bugs&quot; as most do............can't wait to see if the continue near weekly updates to the bios like they do with drivers!

The best 'built in' graphics ever, doesn't really mean much does it?

It's likely that separate components will offer better performance (isn't the onboard vid an mx?) although good onboard sound/video IS a good idea, it's not really the best solution for the person who wants the best components.

I'm not just buying the nforce for its build in graphics (Don't have a grafix card so a suped up mx will do), but for it's advanced features, it's prefetch system, it's hypertransport, and other things that make this board a better performer than other boards (From the previews I've seen so far). So nforce really isn't a budget board, it's a performance board w/ integrated stuff to appeal to all audiences. From the gaming enthusiast, to the office dude looking for a quick solution

if you think about it, almost every motherboard out there these days has integrated sound...so its a no-brainer for Nvidia to put that on their board.

And they can put integrated video using their own technology at a much cheaper cost than any of the other chipset makers out there. If it adds almost nothing to their licensing/manufacturing cost, why wouldn't they do it?

So if you pulled off the video and sound this would be considered a high end AMD motherboard. Since it doesn't cost Nvidia much to put it on, why wouldn't they integrate video and sound into it?

If you're a rich benchmark junkie, then ya get yerself an MP with the best components you can find.

personally, i'm ecstatic that i can be cheap AND get a great computer!

the miracle will be if it works flawlessly out of the gate without any major problems... i have no doubt that it will be a very nice board indeed, once Nvidia gets further along in the learning curve and the kinks start getting worked out. Considering that this is NVDA's first venture into core logic chipsets, it'll be interesting to see what snags and quirks develop in the beginning.

Except that the architecture is based on the *snap* XBOX, also developed by nvidia. They were given gobs of money from Microsith to develop. The product might be fully baked upon release.

I think nvidia will make it &quot;compatible&quot; with other video cards but I bet once a bug is found that they will not rush to fix the problem. Just hope that there aren't any bugs in the AGP implementation.

Actually in a review I saw, they plugged in an Ultra, and it recieved the highest score they had ever seen for an ultra. So it sounds like it adds a little bit more power to the external vid card, to give it really great performance. Of course this is an nvidia card...who knows what to expect w/ other manufacturers
