I just got my cancellation email as well. I remember the days that Amazon took care of its customers, now, they just sent a blatant "You're Order is Cancelled" email. Oh well, gotta find a good/cheap CD-RW somewhere else now

Mine was canceled too. I'm more than a little irate over this. That was my very first order from Amazon. After reading on other boards about all the crap they have been pulling lately I should have stayed away. I knew I was giving them my personal information to do with as they wished when I ordered, but I thought I was getting a good deal on a burner out of it. Now they have one more person's info to sell and I have squat. They damn well better at least send me a $20 off coupon to make up the one I burned for nothing.

Mine was shipped on friday, I guess it was just a matter of time before they ran out. I had already ordered this when it was $136 shipped so I'm sure mine was one of the first ones out the door.

It sure is a pisser though, that they ran out while the coupon was active. Really they should honor that price (including the coupon) when they come back in stock.

I'm usually the first one to criticize a company when things go wrong, but I have to say, it's been my experience that Amazon.com is as good as it gets when it comes to customer services. THey ship things faster than ANYBODY (regularly same day), tracking is top notch, and the customer service is usually great. In this case, they screwed up. Whenever they've screwed up with me, they've gone out of their way to make it right (free shipping, gift certificates, stuff like that.)

So I'm saying it sucks that this happened, but Amazon is still way ahead you compare them with the rest of the field.

Its not going to be back in stock. I requested an email of when it will be back in stock and I got one right away saying that they will not get anymore in the forseeable future but I can check out Amazon auction or zshops to see if anyone else is selling it! yea right. friggin bastards.

I think the item has been discontinued by Yamaha which is probably why they won't get any more in.

I agree with MontyBurns that Amazon has top-flight customer service. When I found out that the price had dropped on this drive the day after I bought it I called them up to ask about reducing my cost by that amount and they were great. I expect most companies would honor the lower price but the customer service guy was incredible. No, zero, zilch wait to talk with a live rep and not only did he credit my card the $30 but he also gave me a very detailed account of when it would ship.

With the deals floating around my consumer choice pretty much follows the money but when I do make a retail-priced purchase I use Amazon without much hesitation.

Ok, Ive been trying to write mail to Amazon for the last 3 days. I ordered on friday, havent got a cnacellation, but the sucker still hasnt shipped. How is everyone elses order doing? Im going to call the losers at amazon tomorow

Amazon just plain sucks, im heading to resellerratings to give them a horrible review right now.... I would suggest that everyone else who is having problems with this place do the same, perhaps losing a little business will prompt some better service

I ordered Friday morning and Amazon was kind enough to upgrade my shipping to next-day, so I'll be receiving it later today. Meanwhile, I fear they've cancelled the deal-of-the-millenium $60 receiver. They've added a "Refund" box with the exact $ amount of my order, yet they haven't specifically stated that my order was cancelled.

I don't like Amazon anymore.
On two recent orders, one got cancelled the day AFTER I talked to the CSR who confirmed that my order (which wasn't processed for a few days - that's why I called them) was in stock and that it would be shipped (with upgraded shipping nonetheless) the same day. The other one didn't get cancelled, but after they upgraded the shipping (yeah, like it matters), it still took like a week for me to get it. It's just unacceptable. Not only do they cancel orders, but they did LIE to me.

Now I was stupid enough to try them again with this burner. They haven't updated my order status (it still shows one item not yet shipped, but I am pretty sure they will cancel it after another week. I should call them again, but don't want to hear them LIE to me... again.

Well, congrats to those who got this burner! It's time for me to get a PLEXTOR from buy.com for $160.

It turns out that my order for the receiver was transferred to three different distribution center, and I was charged three times and refunded twice, but I'll still get it in the long run!

Includes Adaptec and Adobe software plus neato label maker,hope this works better than the HP9110i I'm gonna fleabay this week, thanks to whoever posted this one!!!

Alright

I have to TOTALLY retract my previous comments. I ended up calling Amazon, and spoke to an awsome CSr. She contacted the distribution center, had the drive shipped that day, and upgraded my shipping to next day air for free. I recieved the drive today, and installed it without a hitch. I think amazon is a top rate company. How have everyones experiences with the drive been?

Yeah I got mine two days ago, though I haven't been home long enough to install it...something's seriously wrong with that situation. Definitely retail boxed though, I'm more than happy.

But Buy.com sucks too. Do you remember the $50 off $50 coupon fiasco where they demanded people send merchandise back or approve additional charges to their CC's after the merchandise had been billed and shipped!!? One time I talked to Buy.com on the phone about an order and they accused me of using too many coupons on different orders, yet their system accepted the coupons just fine. If they don't want people using coupons why does their system accept them?
