If you go to clonecd's own homepage, you will find out that all Yamahas' do not support DAO raw, so it is not possible to use clonecd to copy protected software through this drive. I have a 4416S (or rather had before it died) with 1.0j firmware, and cannot use clonecd to copy safedisc titles. Most plextors do support clonecd, as well as many sony and HPs.

Blind write will also make an exact copy of a CD and works with many more CDR drives than does clone cd so look into that program if your cdr doesn't support clone cd.

Let me say this again: I have the Yamaha 4416EZ, firmware revision 1.0j and have successfully used CloneCD to *cough* backup *cough* my full copy-protected UT disc. The copy works flawlessly.

According to the CloneCD web site Text, recent Yamaha drives are supported in SAO-RAW mode (this was incorporated in the June 2000 revesion). I am downloading right now to get it a try with my Yamaha drive (it's the 8X/4X/24X one). Good luck to everyone who gets this drive.

Hey! Does anyone know if you can change the bezels on these cdwriters (or a cdrom for that matter). I got a great looking grey/black metal case when i was visiting asia a coupla weeks ago. I wanted to know if i could get a black bezel if I bought this writer. Any suggestions?

I never heard CloneCD does not work with Yammies. I downloaded it last week and have made about 6 CD's already with no problem. I downloaded the cd images from the web. I'm using the 6416S SCSI drive.

You were able to stack the 3 Pizza Hut $15 coupons on this deal?? I spoke to various Amazon csr's on the phone earlier, because my PH coupons were not showing up on Amazon site as valid. All the csr's told me that, (1) Pizza Hut promo coupons could NOT be stacked, (2) Pizza Hut promo coupons could only be used towards purchase of toys, since the promo was from Toysrus, (3) The $20 off $100 electronics promotion could not piggy-back any promotional gift certificates, such as these Pizza Hut promos. Not only that, but I was told the Pizza Hut coupons could only be used one at a time. From the looks of your post, you were able to already purchase this item using your method. Please verify, or if anyone else was able to do this, please let me know. Thanks!
