I own a PS2 and i bought a Sega DC while waiting for a worth while games to come out for the PS2. Right now games selections for PS2 is CRAP

Regardless of the console being discontinued, the games will keep coming in as there are STRONG rumors that MS XBOX is able to run DC games

Buzzard is correct, I am sad to say (I am a die-hard Dreamcast fan). Yesterday or the day before (the days run together), SEGA announced it would liquidate its remaining Dreamcast inventories for $99 US per console. They may also signifacntly reduce the price for some games (I read that in a few articals as well, but it has not been confirmed). So, if you do like a few Dreamcast games and do not yet have a Dreamcast, now appears to be the time to buy...

SEGA has &quot;dumped&quot; the Dreamcast CONSOLE. The games have been confirmed to be released until the end of March 2002. I heard both of these things straight form the horse's mouth yesterday on the MSNBC Market Halftime Report (they had the CEO for SEGA US on the program). The DC console itself will be discontued (and that sucks).

Thanks for the heads up. Picked up the Smash Pak, extra controller, 2 VMUs, 2 tremor packs, and used NFL 2K1 for $240 shipped. Let's hope they keep the dreamcast going.

I would not even expect any more DC games after the current ones in further along in development get released or their DC inventory runs out.

Sega said they would continue producing DC games for the next 18months as long as it remains a &quot;viable&quot; platform. That could mean anything.

C'mon guys, how long did you really expect games for the DC to keep coming? Consoles don't have the lifetime that the Atari and original Nintendo had. The competition is just too strong these days, and consoles will be replaced even sooner in the future with newer ones. Hopefully this drives consoles' prices down even earlier in their lifespan, as people will be more reluctant to spend their cash on something that will be outdated soon. It's just like the PC market now.....

I think we've been pretty much on-topic. I don't think folks would want to buy the DC on the misconception that more games are coming, because they're probably not.

Sega is pretty big on promises but most of the time they are less than honest. Would they be able to clear out their existing inventory if they said no more games will be released? Probably not...
