I tried egay, but it was around the time the price dropped, so the prices there were pretty high. Picked up a nice one in the FS forum, been playing since.

heh heh...I must say, I laughed my ass off when I saw a new retail Dreamcast package go on E*bay last night for $125.

Getting a good deal on E*bay takes a certain amount of luck. The most fail-safe method of getting the item you want is of course to bid at the last possible minute before an auction ends. Of course, this does not guarantee you a good deal. It seems from my limited experience that the best time to bid on things is after midnight EST...when I bid on mine, it was around midnight and at $72, scheduled to end in nine hours. I figured not many people would be on E*bay at 9 in the morning waiting to jump in at the last minute, so I bid $100 and went to sleep...and I got it! I was psyched.

In case anyone didn't catch this. BestBuy (online or B&M) has extra controllers and the VUM on sale for $16.99 each. From what I've heard, these almost NEVER go on sale... likely only this week.

There are quite a few good Dreamcast deals on Yahoo right now.
Saw a brand new system with NFL2K1 and VMU go for 99.00
Another was a system with 2 controllers, VMU, and like 4 or 5 games for $130.

Also, the new TWEC 25% coupon is great on Phantasy Star Online on there since htey sell it noramlly at $45, already cheaper than everybody else.

I've never owned a dreamcast(I only played PC games), I don't know how is works. so I would like to have some informations about it before I actually buying it. Usually what do they include in the package if u buy a retail dreamcast system? After buying the system, u still have to buy some more things such as someone mentioned a VMU in order play the game? so how much would it cost after everything add up together?

PrinceJoe -- I just got my first one too (from Twec). I haven't owned a game console in my life! Always just computers...

All the games but a few work without the VMU... they just tell you that you can't save. SOme games like Phantasy Star Online require it...

If you want to have fun, get racing games... I've never seen so many racing games... there must be 20 of them. Get a second joystick... even my wife who doesn't like to play games much is enjoying the new DC.

BestBuy has both the VMU and extra Joystick on sale for $17 this week... only a couple days left... get a raincheck if they are already sold out. These things almost NEVER go on sale.

MrVW, I like racing games, I also like fighting games, soul calibur is one of the main reasons I am getting the dreamcast. So which racing game is good? About VMU, one for each dreamcast is enough, right? Every system comes with only one controller, u need to buy another one if u want to play multiplayers game, right? I was wondering how much would BestBuy charge shipping for two tiny things VMU and controllers?

princejoe- you only need one controller to play online, but obviously u need more to play multiplayer. As for the Bestbuy thing, i think they charge s/h online, so it would just be cheaper to go to the B&M and just pay tax, plus u get it instantly, i always like that better. Hey there ne one, just wondering what all of you would recommend as great games of racing, fighting, online, etc?

Yeah, DC is SO worth it. Plus a lot fo places have games *dirt* cheap if they're slightly older titles. I got 8 games at Best Buy the other day for $30 with their $15 off any two deal. NICE price!

Skies of Arcadia and Grandia 2 absolutely RULE, and as for fighters, well, Soul Calibur is better than anything PS2 has, and DOA2 is every bit as good as the PS2 version
