What's the differences? Which is better?

I don't wanna hear about the PS2..I've got a DVD and CD changer but not the $300.

Do you mean the Dreamcast or the Saturn? I think you mean Saturn, so I'd have to say the PS1 is a better system. Lots of great games for it.

Actually he is probably comparing the PSX and Dreamcast, since they are the same price.

Its a hell of a tough call. The PSX has a ton of great games, but so does the Dreamcast. The difference is the Dreamcast's far far superior graphics, and that there are still new good games being released. The PSX is quickly turning into a haven for stupid mass market appeal trash games. But its 5+ year backlog contains quite a few games, and older games are super cheap now, if you don't mind the ass graphics.

I'm glad I'm not the one making the decision, because I don't know if I could. They are both just so awesome

I have but 2 words for you...Daytona USA, being released for Dreamcast March 16, 2001. Looks to be an exact port from the arcade vesrion.

There's a thread in the Hot Deals forum at kbkids.com for the sports-edition Dreamcast with 2 games for about $120 shipped.

If you are even thinking of buying a PS1 over a Dreamcast you are a little beside yourself. DC is one of the best consoles in a long time, and still keeps up with the latest and greatest. PS1 was outdated after about 3.5 years, and it ran for 5 before PS2.

Plus, DC will be able to play PS1 games at double the resolution and with FSAA enabled (DC does it in hardware) with Bleemcast, if it sees the light of day. I'd take my chances.

I got a PS1 over a Dreamcast, but that was a while ago and DC was $100 more anyways. Right now though, I'm perfectly happy with my PS2, but DC would be a more viable option over PS1.

I own both, so listen up:

PSX: Arguably the best console ever made, not because of the hardware, but because of the games. Oh, the games. Best console games ever are for this system. They're also cheap, and the you can't argue with portable hardware, soon with car adapter and LCD screen. Yum.

Dreamcast: Superior Graphics to PSX (and so far, to the PS2 as well teehee), and online gaming is a treat. A lot of great PSX ports are coming to dreamcast in one form or another, also a lot of great PC games. The games are more expensive for the most part. And, of course, since the system is kinda dying (by that I mean it's stopping production) there's always the risk that it could die off eventually.

So, it's a matter of your priorities. I say get both if you can afford it.

I have had a dreamcast since the original launch in 1999. I am currently waiting on Daytona for the dreamcast as well

managed to pick up a cheap PS1 last year when my friend ran out and got his PS2. Still he buys PS1 games I think he has like 2 PS2 games. He said he got it also for the DVDs. Oh well.

I plan on getting a PS2, and a XBox this year when I can find them.

I'm partial to PS1, because I have one, but the dreamcast looks d@mn good.
The saturn is suck.IMHO

Dreamcast @99 is a good deal (better deal than PS1 IMO). Lots of good, cheap games! The ironic thing is that all the Saturn ports are going to PS1 not Dreamcast. I liked some of those Saturn games, and never got a chance to play them.

I used to really be in consoles but mainly just computers now. Dreamcast has all the good 2D fighters which are my favorite type of games, but Playstation had Final Fantasy and Twisted Metal 2

personally, i got the dreamcast because:

1) awesome hardware for only $100? it's almost a crime...
2) lot's of great games
3) it runs netbsd!!! eventually my dc's going to become a webserver. i'll get another one just for games.

heck ... I bought another DC just for spare parts in case something bad happens to mine.

(can't do that with PS because they redesign that damn thing so much)
