Ok, so I plug in my Hard Drive and Optical Drives to my Mobo, add power, start it up.. and BIOS doesn't detect any of my drives!

I have triple checked every connection.. any suggestions? all my parts are brand new >.<

Try clearing the BIOS, there should be a jumper near the battery on the MOBO (check the manual). Or you can pull the BIOS battery out for about 30 seconds and put it back in.

Also the IDE cables work only one way these days. The blue end goes to the mobo, the middle connector (gray) is the secondary (slave) drive on the cable and the end connector (black) is the Primary drive on the cable (or Master). Set all drive jumpers to Cable Select. CS can be slightly faster than the old Master/Slave settings as CS is hardware determined while M/S is software determined.
. The M/S settings will still work and is a way around the hardware drive selection. With M/S it doesn't matter about the drive's position on the cable. But CS is the way to go in most situations today. The cable orientation still must be blue to mobo etc. They just won't work reliably any other way.

are the cables good? Also, did you put the cables in wrong. (reversed) It could be a bad drive like blkhawk said.

Ok, I popped my CMOS battery out for a short while and no dice =(

I'm going to recheck all my IDE connections like zepper said.

keeleysam : I don't know how to check that! have been looking all over my manual and don't see anything about enabling IDE and SATA in Bios >.<

blkhwk : everything is brand new, not a known working drive, but i'm assuming they are.

You're in with all 4 ram sticks at the same time? Try booting with 1 (as a test).
Also, 20->24 pin converters aren't very reliable. Search around , it adds extra resistance to the power. I read that the best way to go was to plug the 20-pin directly. But if it works for you, then go for it =).
