Sell 6800Ultra and get GTXTop now or wait till next year?

I have a chance to sell my ASUS Extreme N6800Ultra 2DT for $450CND and its original price is $599CND, almost $100 more than BFG OC ultra or any other Ultra out there in Canada. Im thinking whether I should sell it now and buy ASUS Extreme N7800GTX TOP/2DHTV or should I wait for the new Nvidia core/series to come out. The question is when will it come out, maybe you read opinions and predictions of when it might come out. Will I lose money with 6800Ultra since the prices are dropping and its value dropped by $150. Also the 7800GT costs $479CND and up so Im in a pickle.

My bro and I think we should get rid of it and get the ASUS GTX Top now.

Are you unhappy with the performance you're getting in games right now?

For what it's worth, I have a 6800GT (at Ultra speeds) and I'm most likely just going to keep it for a while, probably until UT2007 comes out and I really would need to upgrade. Although I'm in a bit of a different situation since I'm still on an Athlon XP/nForce2/AGP platform, so I can't very easily upgrade my video card without upgrading everything, which is also part of why I'm going to wait a little while longer.

I am happy with the performance but the thing is I think it will be difficult to sell 6800Ultra next year and it might be pretty cheap. For some reason ot costs 599 whileother cost 499 and they're overclocked and 7800GT costs only 479 as I stated in 1st post. I just want to know is it worth it, and if it will be a stupid step since a new video card might come out in the beginning of 2006.
I can wait until first week of November but I doubt nvidia will release any neews about upcoming video cards. PS3 might bring bring a new series wth its release.

Yeah, resale value is a valid concern (and I've basically accepted that I won't get all that much for my 6800GT when I sell it next year). There are rumors of a newer GTX coming out, perhaps with 512MB of RAM and maybe even on a 90nm process. I don't know how accurate that is, or when such a card would come out though. It almost certainly wouldn't be in the next few weeks though. I can't quite tell from your post what the price difference would be once you sell your 6800U, but if it's $150 or less, I'd say it's worth it. The GTX is a nice boost from the 6800U, especially if you play at high resolutions.

sell your ultra now and buy the 7800. then when the new cards come out, sell the 7800 and get the new cards. you're getting a freaking brand new upgraded card for only $29 if you do it that way! thats a no-brainer to me

Its in USD, its totally differen. Your ram is 150 our is 350 the conversion doesnt make sense, its the stupid market/economy.
