I have some SLI related issues with my current setup that are making me consider selling my 2 GTX 970's and getting a 980ti.
My top 2 complaints are:
When enabling 3d vision SLI does not work with many titles.
DSR does not function with SLI enabled
Both of these issues relate to having a G-Sync monitor (ROG Swift) which I don't want to get rid of.
My other minor gripe is the 3.5gb memory constraint which has only affected me on a couple of titles. With a single card i'd run out of GPU grunt long before I could enable options that would cause me to hit the memory limit. With SLI I have had to reduce the AA to keep below 3.5 or experience instances of FPS tanking into single digits.
The main reason to stick with the 970's would be that I have already paid for them and in titles where SLI scales efficiently they really do perform well.
Edit: spelling
Anyways its quite easy to talk oneself into or out of making a purchase when you only have yourself to bounce ideas off so I though i'd make a post here and have some objective opinions from outsiders.
