What's involved with turning it into what you think a media PC ought to be? I mean, yeah, you could throw it in an HTPC case and add a 2TB HD for storage, but it would be insanely overpowered for playing back movies. (It's actually a still-not-to-shabby gaming rig though.)

Agreed, it ran everything perfect for me, I just got greedy

I just don't know what to do with it....I could hook it up to a LED and hook up wireless controllers and emulators etc... as well, and steam?

Maybe selling it might be the best option.

You could absolutely do that. Plenty of folks use a computer in the living room as a media PC and "Play Station".

Maybe selling it might be the best option.

That's entirely possible too. If you don't want to game in the living room, you're probably better off selling this rig and getting a ChromeCast or something. (Or even just a small nettop type PC, which would still be able to run old games and emulators, but would have a much smaller, quieter footprint.)

Steam in the living room works pretty well, although streaming makes it unnecessary to have a powerful pc.

To make a good HTPC though, you'd probably want to downsize on case, psu, and motherboard size, which might not go well with the relatively power hungry components.

This case can fit full sized graphics card if you're interested in doing that though, but it's a pricey conversion.

This case is much cheaper and can fit full sized components, except for the graphics card which can only fit relatively small ones. If you're using using it for video playback or streaming steam games I guess you don't need powerful video card, but you might be better off throwing together a low end system using an AMD apu in that case and putting it in a tiny itx case. You can reused the memory at least.
