Why do they call this Battleground 1942? At least one of the opeartions/battles they refer to Marketgarden, did no take place until 1944.

Not too bad of a deal, considering EBgames.com will be able to handle the demand for this game...

As for the bugs, yes it is fairly buggy but DICE has been working on a patch for the multiplayer demo. The game JUST went gold about 3 days ago, so hopefully they've improved the game some.

I'm still going to hold off until it hits $19.99...that is, if I can resist! =)

Keep an eye on Circuit City the week of their releases I got MOH:AA for $19.99 and Max Payne for $14.99.

I downloaded the demo last night and gave it a try. Fortunately, I didn't experience any of the "bugginess" that others have reported (I did experience some @$$holes that were killing their own teammates, though). The game is pretty cool, and I will probably pick up a copy when it becomes a little more affordable.

One thing that I didn't like was that you, by default at least, control planes, tanks, and jeeps with the keyboard and mouse. It was pretty hard flying a plane with a mouse. I'm going to try and configure vehicle control for use with a joystick, and player control for use with keyboard and mouse. If this works, then the game will be totally awesome.

That is possible, in fact, whenever I see really good pilots they normally confess to using a joystick for flight. I find that the plane is easier to control with the keyboard only as opposed to using the mouse.

The full game looks killer, has lots of vehicles to drive...can't wait to fly the B-17 bomber

yes, i happen to be an almost full-time pilot in b1942 and i eventually started using a joystick
started out with the keyboard though.
forget the mouse if you want to fly.. it's pretty much useless imho...

The mouse isn't that bad. It's perfect for pulling those "accidental" tricks due to loss of control. heh.

Well I got in on this deal, and I think i came out ahead. They sent me 2 copies of the game, so my friend is getting my extra copy. I heard a lot of people who pre-ordered got 2 copies as well. If this is how they do pre-orders, count me in on UT2k3.

How do you raise a flag (what key do you press)? Do you have to kill all enemies, or just get to the pole?

you have to be in range of the flagpole (white flag icon upper right) with no enemies in that area and remain there for a bit and the flag is yours.
