Didn't see this posted, so thought I would spread the word:

This is a semi-warm deal for those of us using T-Mobile as our Cell-Phone provider. As of yesterday (11/6/2002), T-Mobile is now offering free nights in addition to free weekends on their Get More 600 minutes plan ($39.99). If you already have T-Mobile as your provider, give customer service a call, and they will add free nights to your next billing cycle. If you have just signed up within the last 90 days (like myself), there is no service contract extension either. Great deal, as it saves most people $7 (which was the fee for free nights before). Nights start at 9pm local time. Check out the details at:

http://www.t-mobile.com/plans/national/

No, they have always had free weekends, not free nights. Their previous plan was 600 anytime minutes + Free Weekends, LD included. Now it is 600 anytime minutes + Free Weekends + Free nights (9pm-7am), LD included.

I have 1000 any time mnts plan and free weekends. I called the customer service for adding unlimited nights to my plan but they told that if I add unlimited night my any time free mnts will reduce to 600.

i wish they had something for us 29.99 plans, its just 250 anytime, an extra 6 or7 for nights is a bit steep.

Just called em up. There's always a catch. You have to renew your plan for another 12 months if you're already a member w/ the 600 min. plan and want the free nights. Or you can choose to pay $6.99 extra/month. I think i have enough min. anyways.

chadeades,

Did you sign up within the last 90 days? That is what my CSR told me... Anyway, sorry it didn't work out for you. Guess this is a good deal for those of us (like myself) who just signed up for the 600 anytime + free weekends for $39.99. Adds nights for free.

I'm on the 39.99 plan. (600 minutes and free weekends) I've been with Voicestream(Tmobile) for over two years, and I called and told the CSR that I wanted to add the free nights to the account. He actually gave me crap and said I had to sign up for another contract. Considering that I never had a contract with them, I told him to either add the night minutes, or to transfer me to the cancellation department, as I wasn't going to put up with this contract crap. He said, "Please wait one minute sir while I add the night minutes to your account." Punk. I hate when they pull that crap. I understand that they only start making money off their customers after a certain point, but 2+ years is beyond making money for any of the wireless providers. </Rant> Anyway, I got the deal even if I had to be a jerk. (Sorry I lost my cool)

Thanks for the post! -TAL

T-mobile uses the same network as Singular. so if singular is good in your area, t-mobile is good too.

Is that everywhere or just SoCal?

T-mobile does not use Cingular's nationwide network. The two have network sharing agreements in several areas, as does AT&T. The only way to be sure of cellular quality in your area is to get the phone and take advantage of the money-back window (I believe it's only 72 hours with T-Mobile).

I've always been tempted to upgrade my plan but i love my vintage plan where i get the first incoming minute of every call free. And that's on top of the regular features.

Since most of my useage is from received calls which lasts only 2-4 minutes it adds up fast.

Wow, you've still got one of those? I had one, but I signed it over to my brother. I remember when every company was offering first incoming free. What ever happened to those days?

Can anyone with 1000 minute plan confirm it? I am still within my 90 days window

Update: I just confirmed that you will have to give 1000 minutes. Bummer

Yep, i've considered upgrading my plan for the unlimited weeknds and 600 anytime minutes but without the first incoming free. Thing is, i actually save more on my current plan of 600 anytime, 500 weekend and 1st minute of every incoming call is free PLUS! I get a bucket of 500 SMS messages to boot!

When i started it was all still part of Aerial Communications - i even remember them having those ads on TV where these people who talked like auctioneers planned out an entire evening by just talking fast under 1 minute

My question is if they'll give you nights on the family plans......that's the ONLY thing holding me back right now, as my family's ready to get a new plan (and I want my v70, dammit), but w/o nights, I don't think 800 minutes is gonna be enough for M-F....

Anybody know? I could always try sweettalking a CSR

Thats what I want to know. My mom has one. Also, is it more money to get more phones on the family plan?

It costs $10/person to add persons to the family plan. They don't add minutes. The only family plan option is the 800 minutes plan. Last I heard they were not offering unlimited nights whether for free or for a fee on the family plan. Wish they would.

Nope. According to the multitudes of posts in the Voicestream newsgroups the unlimited nights doesn't apply to Family plans and few others.

Why the hell did my mom get the family plan. She should have gotten 2 single plans for a little more, and get way more minutes.
