Wow, it doesn't take much to agitate the hit squad around here.
Pointing out a disconnect doesn't require me to be agitated at all. Sorry?

Big surprise, the people that hate him, didn't vote for him, don't support him and never will, thought it was horrible. The people that voted for him and support him thought it was great and are happy he's already rescinded some of Obama's executive orders. Full speed ahead.
Well not a good thing. I want to see things change but I know full well what happens when there is attack without understanding or a plan. You get Iraq. Just going after something without caring about consequences is destructive and people will suffer more than need be.
It's been pointed out that normally we count on Congress and the Judiciary to prevent the President from completely fucking things up. Now because we know Congress is quite possibly at its weakest, we're forced to hope that Trump's advisers will prevent insanity from spilling out onto the national/global stage.Posts like this make me happy. Always good to see someone engaging in 'learning from history so we don't repeat it.'
I'm keeping my fingers crossed with regard to Trump's foreign policy, despite his deplorable attention span, memory and fluency with history and politics. Mattis is a historian and one who understands firsthand the burdens carried by our people in times of war. He won't roll over for Trump, and has already shown he's happy to walk if he's marginalized or ignored. I see a beacon of promise there, maybe even a life line. I just hope Trump can act like a president and not a businessman; Mattis' continued presence could depend on it.
Here's hoping Bannon drinks himself under sooner rather than later too.
Plagiarism is hardly original.Do we really have to think about stuff as stupid as this? They got the same cake! As-if you're insinuating Trump was the advisor of the ball and directly said to the cake maker "I want a cake that looks exactly like Obama's!". For all we know it was just a "Yeah, sure, whatever, put a fucking cake there"
Same goes with that stupid post on the POTUS Twitter background being from Obama's Inauguration.
You think these cakes are just some off the shelf thing? The guy who made the original said he didn't make Trump's cake - in other words, someone copied the guy's design. It's like being one of those artists that masquerades as a famous one to sell counterfeit artwork.Do we really have to think about stuff as stupid as this? They got the same cake! Does anyone else think that's a rather tacky-looking cake? If I wanted to steal someone else's work, I think I would have picked something more attractive. Maybe it looked better in person.
Right, but my question is how do we know Trump had anything to do with the planning of the event at all? It's a party that is done every election, how do we not know if there are white house cooks/staffers that pick and coordinate this junk? You think these cakes are just some off the shelf thing? It's small potatoes, but it's just a continued pattern of unethical behavior surrounding the new administration. Plus, it's funny.
Perhaps they'll plagiarize the ACA as well in their repeal and replace.
You're probably right, but that misses the point. The issue isn't just that Donnie is an immoral sleazeball. The issue is that Donnie has surrounded himself with an entourage of similarly immoral sleazeballs. Plagiarizing a cake design isn't an earthshaking evil, but it is symptomatic of the corrupt culture of the Trump realm.Right, but my question is how do we know Trump had anything to do with the planning of the event at all? Just doesn't seem like something i would give a shit about if I just became president, it's not like a personal wedding it's a formal job event.

I saw that too. The cake maker just wanted to point out he didn't make that cake, I don't believe a cake can be trade marked except Disney characters and such.
I bet it was someone on staff looking at cakes and said I'll take that one.
The cake is as close to identical to Obama's as possible. There is practically no difference.
I will say its just sloppy work on the Trump team again. Given Melania's convention speech and that other one Trump kind of lifted some stuff from you'd think his team would be extra cautious.
Excited to share the cake we got to make for one of last night's inaugural balls. While we most love creating original designs, when we are asked to replicate someone else's work we are thrilled when it is a masterpiece like this one. @duff_goldman originally created this for Obama's inauguration 4 years ago and this years committee commissioned us to re-create it. Best part is all the profits are being donated to @humanrightscampaign, one of our favorite charities who we have loved working with over the years. Because basic human rights are something every man, woman and child~ straight, gay or the rainbow in between~ deserve!
They may be corrupt in your opinion which is apparently based on little to no factual evidence...but at least they pay their taxes. You're probably right, but that misses the point. This post was meant to be ironic right? They may be corrupt in your opinion based which is apparently based on no facts...but at least they pay their taxes.
