So It was Joe Macri not Lisa Su.
It doesn't make it any better tho.

andIt was Joe Macri
It was Lisa Su
Link to the exact moment in the stream. It was Joe Macri, Product CTO. The only line of defense here is he was talking about power delivery and cooling.I'm pretty sure it was Richard Huddy that said Fury was an overclocker's dream. That it was pounced upon and used as an anti-AMD tirade is ridiculous though.

Not really.I'm pretty sure it was Richard Huddy that said Fury was an overclocker's dream. That it was pounced upon and used as an anti-AMD tirade is ridiculous though.
First, it was definitely Joe Macri because I was watching the live podcast when he said it. Secondly, he did claim that it would be an overclocker's dream. All the pieces seem to be there, but so far Fiji overclocking has been underwhelming.I'm pretty sure it was Richard Huddy that said Fury was an overclocker's dream. No. At 55 mph the 85 kWh battery is rated for 300 miles according to Tesla. That would make 283W per mile driven or 15.6 kW for one hour of 55mph cruise speed.I really like the part making fun about power consumption. Had the same thought. 250W is a no-go in automotive. Way too high. Due to high power need already in current cars, the standardized car battery is already reaching it's limit. Adding another component using 250W is pretty much not possible.
As far as I can tell a tesla uses about 300W at 55 MPH. So basically this board would almost half the distance you could drive in an electric car.

And this wouldn't be an extra 250W of power, it would replace and centralize a couple of other systems, making the power delta way lower.
The same way you cool a combustion engine. In the summer my car is HOT. How do you cool a few pieces of silicon pumping out such a high TDP in a car?
