I recently received a sempron 2800 from a supplier to check out and here are my results:-
sempron 2800, xp3200 & xp2500
3d2003 = 4639,4884,4645
doom3 = 52,61,56
ut04 = 82,98,85
comache4 = 42,52,44
x2 = 73,84,74
With games the sempron 2800 performs just abit slower than the old xp 2500 barton which is $47 cheaper!
cpubench = 5732,6366,5372
mbench = 3062,3326,2768
sandra cpu alu = 7631,8435,7015
sandra cpu fpu = 3152,3469,2888
It's a shame that these good sempron cpu benchmark results are not repeated in the games benchmarks.
The main problem with the sempron 2800 is it's price, if it was priced below the xp2500 then it would be a good cpu.
sempron 2800 = $110
xp3200 = $129
xp2500 = $63
If you are thinking of getting a sempron 2800 then get a xp3200 instead because it is only $19 more expensive!
