It won't happen. Biden seems excited at the prospect of bending over backwards to appease the GoP. And there is no agreement to be had with the GoP that doesn't involve giving them the better end of the deal, so we can probably expect conservative policies to dominate under Democrat control.
What has Biden done to appease the GOP, specifically? Nothing as far as I can tell.

No matter what they end up doing there is no benefit to be gained by declaring right out of the gate that you refuse to compromise or whatever.
Do we really need evidence of Democrats falling into the appeasement trap? Isn't that part of the brain defect so common among liberals. They neither know how to message nor counter the message coming from the conservative side because they are morally blind to a whole bunch of very common and very survival important moral concerns. Liberals, in my opinion are morally inept and afraid of feelings. They do not have the intestinal fortitude to stand up to evil. And that is exactly what the Republican party has become. They need to be destroyed mercilessly and without compromise, utterly stripped of their capacity to do evil.

It is not without reason that conservatives are happy to go for the throat. They project the evil within them out there on liberals and liberals do not know how to respond. They can't abandon candy-assed reasonableness and feel the danger they are in.

Liberal inaction in the face of conservative madness will destroy our nation in my opinion. That will only lead to more and more madness and extremism on the left and violence everywhere. Liberal ineptness is the face of conservative extremism will produce the same but opposite reaction.

But please please please. Don't anybody call me mean. I would just curmple up and die at the thought. Mommy and Daddy loved me because I was so easy to get along with. Those monster nightmares I had, those were not about me. Time for my Yoga class.

When one calls a child a monster; it is much more likely that that person is the actual monster.

In my opinion the maybe the hardest thing about knowing something of real truth is that it isn't what you want it to be. Here, and again in my opinion, I have had to see that any monster I see is just a projection of me. I am just one in a chain of monsters, the last created by my parents. We don't want to see that we project what we hate in ourselves, so it is important to know that no hate can be justified because we became monsters not because we deserved to be but mechanically. Monsters are created by people who are asleep and create new speepers. As long as we are in a state of sleep we can't really be blamed for anything, justifiably blaimed that is. We will deffinitely be blamed just for breathing.

Well congressional Democrats had better do something to gain the upper hand since now president Biden has announced his climate change agenda. Anything climate change is going to piss republicans off to no end. First it was pushing the path to citizenship, then defunding Trump’s wall, and now the climate. All of which I am thrilled about.... But Schumer needs to do whatever it takes to get this agenda going and to pass everything in that agenda. Obama believed in the politics of kumbaya and wasted a lot of time, then Democrats lost the senate and Obama had to resort to executive orders to get something, anything done. If Schumer and Biden screw around wasting valuable time while Democrats control all three branches of government, they will regret it even more after republicans retake the senate and the house come the 2022 midterms. I have a wish list, my wish list would be for Schumer and Biden to start working on term limits for all, and also doing away with the electoral college. Imagine if presidents were elected on the popular vote alone, Republicans would never get a president in there ever again. And look how close Trump came to being elected while Joe Biden got some 7 million more votes. That crap needs to be stopped. Term limits and nuking the electoral college. Term limits would get the old farts out of congress like McConnell, Grassley, and yes even some long term Democrats. And the popular vote would give us fair elections.... finally.

As of this writing I'm extending an olive branch to Trump himself for I know the depth of trouble he's now in due to the many crimes against the people he committed while in office. In that light I would like to offer him temp employment where I think his talents would be best used, that of having his face being utilized as a doorstop for one of my doors that like to slam open on windy days. It's just hell having to keep repairing the hole in the drywall that the doorknob makes every time the wind swings it open.

So Donald, offer is open-ended, and you can bring your wife and daughter along with you because I think their talents would best be used as mannequins at the local Salvation Army store where I occasionally drop off donated items. Would be nice to see both of them gainfully employed while using their skills at their highest potential.

if we get rid of the filibuster we might lose elections in the future so let's guarantee it by not using the power we have to get popular legislation done is such a democrat thing to do.

When I see the GOP congress people all I see are nails. They should be treated accordingly.

The Republicans have become so routinely horrible that it's really hard to believe they can’t credibly threaten to be worse.

If the Republicans gain a majority in two years, will they try to impeach Biden if the Trump impeachment goes through? ... Yes.

If the Republicans gain a majority in two years, will they try to impeach Biden if the Democrats drop the Trump impeachment? ... Yes.

There’s nothing the Democrats can do that will put the Republicans on any kind of good faith behavior. The Democrats shouldn’t try to make deals with the Republicans because they have shown time after time that they aren’t capable of making a deal.

They should treat Republicans like zombies. Don’t try to reason with them. Don’t try to negotiate with them. Don’t try to meet them halfway. Don’t try to appeal to their better nature. Just recognize them for what they are and what they have proven to be, and defend yourself against them.

Heck, Gaetz is starting his presidential run, based on the insurrection. Who would have thought?

Reach across, be willing to adapt and cater to other points of view for consideration.

If they don't play nice and aren't willing to be reasonable, then hammer.

Don't piss off. Don't be too partisan. It's in your best interest - you're 2 years away from losing the majority and in partisan gridlock.

If you make Americans feel happy, it will be reflected in the voting outcome.

Example: If you spend more of your first 100 days in office talking about illegal immigration as-if it's a priority during a pandemic, American voters will reflect their disapproval in 2 years.
They will not lose the majority in 2 years....won`t happen!!

Gaetz has zero chance, my guess is Halley to run against Harris in 2024. Fox is already putting her out there like crazy lately .

Moderate-ish Republicans seeing the reconciliation locomotive being warmed up in near record time:

There is going to be limited patience for this if they've got a proposal at like a 1/3rd the tab of Biden's. Though reconciliation can still be used to make up the difference later. Assuming the pandemic is brought under control in the US in the coming months and the economy rebounds there is political gain to be had and some Rs might actually want a little of that action.

As far as I can tell this attempt is primarily about how Republicans are desperate, absolutely desperate to avoid funding state and local governments so they can be forced into layoffs.

All that aside, why is it when Democrats are in power there are these endless pushes for bipartisanship? In 2017 you never heard discussion about what Republicans could do to win Democratic votes.

Republicans think bipartisanship is giving them all their policy demands and anything short of that is the Dems being mean to them.

On the plus side this offer is so incredibly weak that Sinema and Manchin basically have no choice but to vote for a reconciliation package.

They are just offering a pittance so they can claim that Biden isn't following through on his promise of unity and bipartisanship. It isn't a good faith offer because they know Biden cannot take the deal. Biden should try to negotiate, for a short period of time, then use budget reconciliation to pass the full bill.

Biden should give them veneer of negotiating and then push through with reconciliation. GOP already wants to gerrymander their way to the House in 2022. Democrats have nothing to gain by letting bad faith negotiations stall their agenda. If you're in danger of losing out in 2 years anyway, better to force it all through now.

Another thing dems need to do is, at a minimum, end the filibuster for voting rights legislation. For crying out loud, the GOP has put forth over 100 bills nation wide to restrict voting rights.
