Just heard the burial will be at arlington, anyone know the details behind that?

What specific details are you looking for? As a senator, I believe it is his right to be burried there.

that; never heard of that being used before. Wonder how many other members of congress have been buried there.

According to the Arlington spokesfolks Sen Kennedy earned the right via service in the Army and also as a member of Congress. So we could bury him twice.

he had minimal army service. given how much they are encouraging vets that have truly earned a spot there to go elsewhere, I wouldn't be so sure that current regulations would allow the honor based on his service.

All of us are flawed in one way or another. Inspite of his flaws he did far more good for this country and its people. As a senator he knew how to reach across and yet keep to his ideals. We lost a good man.

RIP

Criminally negligent homicide is a not a flaw.

I believe Ted Kennedy pled guilty to leaving the scene of an accident. Of course, facts have never been important to righties.

eh, there is really no need to defend Ted Kennedy on that. We all know what he did was wrong, it was a big mistake, and the woman could've alive if he exercised better judgment.

Having said that, he did dedicated a big part of his life to this country. With his wealth and connection, he could've been a playboy, a rich businessman and enjoy much better life out of the politics/public eyes. And even though he comes from a rich family, a lot of his policy is to support the poor. For that, he has my respect.

He is just a human being who made mistakes, and did some good as well. It's up to people if they wanna focus on the mistakes, or the good he did.

He pled guilty to leaving the scene of an accident AFAIK, unless you have other info that he was guilty of criminally negligent homicide, you're lying.

It's pretty hysterical that you're jumping down throats over assumptions regarding Kennedy, but here you are, telling ME where my political beliefs lie based on assumptions you've made in this thread and, BEST CASE SCENARIO, a few others, as well. If you're not all over some lib's jock, you must be an evil conservative neocon.

It must be nice to live in a blissfully ignorant and naive little world where everyone just accepts what criminals cop to as the God's honest truth. You're so willing to accept that Kennedy was guilty of nothing other than leaving the scene of an accident - because Mr. Political Ambition told you so ( ), but you want to try to tell me what my own political leanings are... based on what... my online persona in this lib-infested forum where anything even remotely moderate looks Hitleresque by comparison? ROFL get the fuck outta here :lips:
