I have to say, I'm so disgusted with what I'm seeing today. I can only sit back and hope that people wake up and get active. I believe that if we can get 60-70% voter turnout, there will be a huge referendum against what's happening today. but, alas, I know that's wishful thinking. We'll get the same low numbers as 2020 (average by US standards I know). and we will have the same split 55-45, with small states pushing a crappy candidate over the top. so sad.

I think the best way the democratic candidate can change this from a divisive issue to a positive one is for them to forgive the president. Not condone, not ignore, but forgive. Letting Trump create the narrative that it's us against them, and having the democrat candidate firing back will give him exactly what he wants. People know that Trump is wrong, and that he lies constantly, but if you let him create any number of divisions in this country he gets what he wants. Obama always focused on common goals, and a unified people in the USA. That's the way to defeat Trump.

Yeah, its truly astounding how little selfawareness he has. He's pulled that shit with a bunch of stuff. He tries doing the opposite for "liberal" stuff (claiming he watches it all the time and likes it, but somehow never actually learns a goddamn thing from it and often argues explicitly against it). I think he's trying to pull an elaborate #walkaway claim. He'll have threads where he'll say "duh" type of things and act like most people don't agree (like how most people aren't happy about communication companies like Verizon/ATT/Comcast) because he keeps trying to frame liberals a certain way. But then he'll turn around and argue the dumbest shit imaginable. And he's one of the ones that acts like he's never liked Turmp but has defended him a bunch and I think at one point literally said "I don't like him, but he's saying things that make sense" or something close to it. Think he might've done the same with Alex Jones, claimed he never listens to him (and maybe even said he hates what he spews) but would rabidly defend him.

That's the weird part of people like that (and Alex Jones, and others) is they're actually exhibiting the extent with which they empathize with other people. That is to say, they assume that everyone is as dumb as they are, and so when called out for bullshit they don't think other people actually know anything more than they do, but rather they're just doing what they themselves are, spewing bullshit as part of their team and that its all just people spewing random bullshit at each other.

I think that particular person though genuinely thinks they're being some objectivist middleman and so thinks he's keeping both sides honest by (in his mind) pointing out horrible parts of both (and that him often saying anti-liberal stuff on here is just reaction to the strong liberal bias of most posters here or some such) or defending parts of both that he thinks is unfairly maligned (which is why he just happens to keep defending horrible shit done by conservatives because he thinks they're unfairly maligned more).
