sending flowers online?

i was calling around to have a dozen roses delivered to my GF's work next friday, and looks like it'll run me about $75-90 delivered. anybody sent flowers online before? how did that go? only thing i dont like is the flowers go to her in a fedex box...that just is not right and sort of ruins it in my opinion.

well, it probably works ok. But isn't it cheaper to just call a local place and have them deliver it ?

On a lot fo the online shops(for example 1800 Flowers) They use either their own location around the area or smaller flowershops to personally deliver the flowers. This way it doesn't come in a Fedex box.

proflowers.com has been good to me. Came in a fedex box, but apparently, the flowers started to grow some more while in the vase that my g/f put them in. If that isnt quality, i dont know what is.

I've ordered from several different flower vendors online, and was never given the option to have a local shop deliver flowers. They always came in a box, and the receiver had to "assemble" thier own arrangement.

I wouldn't use an online service that hires small local shops to deliver the flowers. They are paid a lot less than normal and have a tendency to select the worst flowers in stock to you.
