I never got that cord noise with my Shures and they are canal earphones but I have really noticed that with the Senn CX300s. Not a big deal as I usually listen at my desk or in bed, however if you are planning to run or exercise with these, I could see it getting really annoying.

I was going to say the way shure IEMs are designed (the cord going around your earlobes) is often considered the best way to fight microphonics. When I first got my atrio m5s, I was pleased with everything except microphonics and how easily they fell out of your ear. Though they weren't really meant to be worn like shures do, I tried the same nonetheless and was very satisfied with the result. I never had any hands-on experience with these senns, but don't see why that shouldn't work on these.

Is the deal still on btw?

I just got mine yesterday in the mail.

They work great and really block out the outside noise. Not very good if you plan on running though as they resonate movement similar to a stethescope when you brush the cord. Also the cord is rather short imho, again may or may not be a problem for some folks.

With the rebate, I sent of my iPhone headphones in since my Labrador chewed through the cord. Glad I didnt toss them given you have to send in some headphones, broken or not, to satisfy the $15 rebate conditions.

think so, rebate period is still on and its still in stock. got mine finally, the cord noise isn't so bad, it goes away if you tuck it under your shirt. i think the J cord also helps fight some cord noise, the bit going around the back of your neck seems to brace it a bit. atleast with skullcandies the Y cord is a noise magnet. clarity is good. bass is ok, but its not as powerful as the ex 85 type that comes with walkman. but the rest of the spectrum is more clear. they seem to be mid canal type phones, not that deep really, i use the large tips instead of the medium which i use with others and it lodges in the ear and seals quite well without feeling any suction type feeling.

they match their pic
http://www.sennheiserusa.com/m...ages/CX300-B_hires.jpg

but the cord plug is the newer type, with narrow plug head for older iphones.

Got them in the mail today... bottom of the package was cracked (sigh - DHL + USPS = disaster) but the phones themselves were undamaged. Sound really good... I get a better seal with these than my Mylarone XBi which in turn gives better isolation and sound. A steal for $15 for sure!

From the rebate form:
"Offer valid only on consumer purchases made between April 1 - July 31, 2008 from an Authorized Sennheiser USA dealer. eBay purchases are excluded from this offer. Rebate claim forms must be
postmarked no later than 08/31/2008."

The rebate posed by the op, unless there is another, is dead.

I liked the 1st set so much that just bought a 2nd set for spare.
Anyway whether the rebate is any good or not is debatable but for $24.99 this cannot be beat.
I replaced my long time beloved Sony pair but this is a lot better, especially at the low freq or bass where the Sony was a bit weak.

Right now it's $9.99 after $15 rebate if you don't have to pay tax (I did). Ordered yesterday at Newegg:

Original Price: $79.99
You Save: $55.00
$24.99
Free 3-7 Business Day Shipping
(Not available in HI, AK and PR)

I ordered yesterday and it shipped yesterday.

I have two sets of Etymotics ER4S (expensive!), which I've had for years. They are tough (never had a problem!), great response, block out noise. There are cons, but nothing major. Anyway, this is so cheap I had to go for it. It has the basic features I require (isolation, mainly). Will probably find them useful.

thanks OP!

Good price at $25, awesome price at $10!

Note that you have to send your old pair of headphones with the rebates (any old piece of junk appears to qualify) - one rebate per household, in case you need to order more than one.

They were in stock when I ordered this morning.

great price, now who can send me a pair of broken headphones? =P

like many others said, if you are experiencing noise from cable rubbing clothes(some call it microphonic), loop the cable over and behind your ear. That will cancel out most of the vibration.

Got mine today, shipped by Newegg DHL, and it was handed over to USPS locally yesterday.

Question: What suffices for a "copy of the original sales receipt" requested for the rebate? I printed these:

Order Confirmation
Invoice

Included with the headphones is a packing list.

What's acceptable for the rebate?

Also, there's 3 UPC's. 2 are on cardboard and one on a sticker on the plastic surround. Include them all??

I received e-mail confirmation of my rebate being approved. Not bad considering I was expecting them to be processed after the period ended.

did you check the link in the email? my email made it sound like it was approved, by the link says it's missing the UPC, which I sent.
I have a copy of my original submission but I can't figure out who to contact about it.

Wow, I'm really glad I found this link. I just got some CX300 for $29 shipped from Amazon. That makes these headphones $15 after rebate! Not bad, because I wasn't expecting it!

Is it possible to get replacement rubber thingies? There are 3 sets that it comes with, small medium and large. My Etymotics comes with extras, and you can order several sets of replacements cheap from Etymotics. I'm back to using my Etymotics, actually. They are far better at blocking out external sound with the white silicon tips. That's one of the beauties of the Etymotics... in the gym, the extraneous noises can be pretty annoying, not to mention that without protection, the sound of metal plates crashing together can be downright painful! Anyway, $10 for these net is a very good deal. I got an email from the rebate agency confirming that my application is in progress.
